Everyone's eyes moved to Gareth as I spoke his name. Speaking his name left a bad taste in the back of my throat. He was the one person I thought I would never see again.
"You know her?" the man in front of me asked with confusion. Gareth swallowed hard as we continued staring at each other.
"Get out," Gareth demanded after a moment. "All of you get out."
Everyone paused for a moment before nodding slowly and heading towards the door. Gareth never took his eyes off of me the entire time they were leaving us in the room. Once they were safely out, Gareth put down the clipboard he was holding and moved his gaze back to me.
"Elizabeth," he managed to get out. "Who would've thought we would end up in this situation?"
"You turning into one of the bad guys? I could've told you that," I scoffed at him as I struggled with the ropes wrapped around my wrists.
"We're only called the bad guys because nobody knows what our story is," Gareth replied to me as he walked over to where I was. I continued to struggle with the tight ropes as he stared down at me. "If you don't get me out of these, I am going to kill every single person here."
Gareth chuckled at my words as he kneeled down to my level. His amusement with me was completely irritating. Just because I didn't look intimidating didn't mean I wouldn't slaughter every single person here. I was more than capable of doing that if I wanted to.
"Why were you out there alone?" Gareth questioned as he continued watching me. "What are you looking for?"
"Beth," I confessed almost immediately. "Somebody took her."
Gareth raised an eyebrow as I spoke my sisters name. It was as if he was confused by the fact that she was still alive. He obviously didn't understand how strong my family had gotten. "Your sister is still alive?"
"For now."
Gareth slowly moved away from me and began walking around the room. He picked up his clipboard and began reading down it before he looked back at me. "And your dad?"
"Dead," I replied coldly.
"And your other sister?" he asked without a care in the world. He never really got along with Maggie the entire time he was in my life, so I could sense there was some hostility behind his voice.
"I don't know," I replied as I tried to work at the ropes once again. I was getting pretty annoyed with the fact that I was still tied up. Gareth and I knew each other for three years, why was I still tied to this chair? It wasn't like I was going to kill him right when I got loose.
"Welcome to Terminus, Elizabeth."
Terminus? There was no way this was Terminus. This was no sanctuary. This was a death trap. I froze as I realized the others would come here. The others would come here only to be slaughtered.
And here I was with no way to warn anybody about what this place really was.Gareth slowly opened the large door to reveal a man standing outside of it. I was the same man who had taken the sack off of my head. Why was he coming back?
"This isn't personal," Gareth grinned as the man came over to me. He began untying my arms and legs while a woman kept a gun level with my head. "Just business."
The man pushed me out of the chair as the woman moved behind me, the gun still aimed directly at my head. I cursed to myself as the man motioned for me to began walking.
"You're gonna regret this," I growled at Gareth as the others began ushering me through the door. "You just killed yourself."
"Shut up," the woman groaned at me as she pushed me through the door. "We've heard it all before."
I looked desperately around the area to find a way to escape, but there wasn't one. Somebody would shoot me no matter where I went. This entire thing was a trap.I had no idea what they were going to do to me, but I knew it wasn't good. The woman brought me to a small train car. I knew in the back of my mind she was going to put me in there. I understood that much. What I didn't understand was why Gareth was doing this. We had our ups and downs, but we found each other. If I found somebody from my past, the last thing I would do is kill them.
The man opened the car and motioned for me to get it. I hesitated. That only caused the female to push me inside with great force. I looked back at the door as they slammed it shut, concealing me inside. The last thing I saw was Gareth standing in the distance with a sly grin on his face.
Why was he punishing me? What did I ever do to him? Everything that happened in our past was all his fault.
I sighed as I realized I would never find Beth again. I would never find anybody again. I was going to die in this place, but not without a fight.
I began banging rapidly on the door, screaming at the top of my lungs.
"Help," I screamed, kicking at the door. I had hoped it would give out, but it never did. I was a strong person, but I wasn't strong enough to tear this door down,
"I'll kill you," I screamed desperately as I continued trying to kick it down. "Gareth!"
"That isn't going to work," a voice spoke from the shadows.
I gasped as I pushed myself against the wall in shock. I peered into the shadows as I watched a pair of eyes looks up at me. My eyes moved to a small 'W' engraved above them.
"You're trapped."
