~Elizabeth's p.o.v~
"I got to do it," I heard Noah say as I quickly looked between him and Daryl. My eyes were beginning to fill with tears as I saw Daryl stare at me with complete shock crossing his face. I tried to control my breathing as he stared down at me. I watched Noah slowly hand Rick his gun. My eyes moved between all of the others until I saw my sister standing in the distance. Her eyes were shifting between me and Noah.
"Dear God," I whispered as I saw that she was alive. I balled my fists up as I began staring down at the floor. They should've stayed away. They should've have come looking.
"It's not okay," I heard Beth whisper. I took a deep breath before looking back up at Daryl. He was still staring at me with the same look of disbelief on his face as before.
"It's settled," Dawn said as she slowly took the gun away from my head. I partially wished she would've just blew my brains out right there. Daryl began approaching me as Noah began approaching Dawn.
"Wait," Beth shouted as she ran towards Noah. This caused Dawn to put a hand up, telling Daryl to move back. He did as he was told, staring at me the whole time. I continued kneeling on the ground as I watched Beth embrace Noah. I felt sadness flow through me as I realized I was the reason he would be taken from her.
"I knew you'd be back," Dawn said as she glared over at Noah. I watched as Beth slowly moved her eyes to Dawn as she pulled away from Noah. A bad feeling flowed through me as she approached Dawn. I stared up at them as they came face-to-face with each other.
"I get it now," Beth whispered as she stared Dawn in the eyes. I began breathing heavily as I watched them stare eachother down for a few moments. All at once, I watched as Beth pulled something sharp from the cast she had on. She shoved it inside of Dawn's chest before a bullet went off, causing a terrible pain to flow through my chest.
I had thought I was the one who had been shot, but I was wrong. I wish I was right. In that moment, all I wanted was to be dead. I clenched my chest as I watched my sister slide down Dawn's body. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't think. I couldn't move. I was in complete shock. I wanted to grab the gun and put it on myself. I began breathing even heavier as I felt my sister's blood splatter onto my face.
"I didn't mean it," I saw Dawn mouth at the others. I couldn't hear her. I couldn't hear anything. I could only hear the sound of my breathing.
I watched as Daryl pulled his gun out angrily, aiming at Dawn's head. In an instant, a bullet went through her head and she hit the floor. I heard everybody quickly draw their weapons. I didn't pay attention to that. I could only pay attention to Beth's lifeless body on the floor. I began screaming terribly as I crawled over to her and grabbed her hand.
"Hold your fire," an officer screamed. "It's over."
"Beth!" I screamed, trying to breathe. Everything around me was closing in. I could practically feel all sanity leaving my body as I stared at her.
"It was just about her."
"Beth! No!"
"Stand down."
Silence flowed through the area as guns were slowly lowered. I heard the sound of Daryl whimpering as he looked over at Beth and I. The pain inside of me was so strong that I could hardly handle it.
"You can stay," the officer said in a sympathetic voice.
"We're surviving here," another voice said. "It's better than out there.""No, no, no," I whispered as I held Beth's hand tighter. "Wake up."
"No," Rick said sternly. "And I'm taking anyone back there who wants to leave."
I continued clutching Beth's hand, bringing it closer to my heart. I heard footsteps approaching me from behind and I tensed up.
"If you want to come with us," Rick said with his voice breaking. "Just step forward now."
I felt two arms wrap around me and pick me up. This caused me to start kicking and crying. They couldn't take me away from my sister. Not now or ever. "Beth," I screamed as I tried to claw away from Daryl's grasp. He tightened his grip around me.
"Can't you just let me go," I screamed as I tried to push him away. "Can't you all just finally let me die?"I sank to the floor as I continued crying, pulling my legs closer to me. I heard Daryl whimper some more as he looked down at the state I was in. I heard his footsteps slowly walk over to where Beth was and another pair walked to where I was. I tried to allow myself to breathe as I felt the familiar presence of Rick next to me.
He quickly pulled me into his arms and I held onto him as I continued crying. I heard the footsteps of the others behind us as we began exiting the hospital. I shook the entire way there. The image of Beth on the floor echoed through my mind as I felt the cool breeze of the outdoors hit my skin.
"Elizabeth?" I heard Maggie's voice scream from far away. I felt Rick shake his head when he heard her scream. I buried my face in his chest as I cried even harder.
It was only a matter of seconds before I heard Maggie let out a cry, signaling she saw Beth. I wanted to hug Maggie. I wanted to be there with her.
I slowly began moving my head towards the sound of her voice before Rick stopped me."Don't look. It will only make it worse."
