"Who'd you end up with?" I heard Daryl's voice ask as I continued staring at the fire in the distance. I watched the others gather around it for warmth. I partially wanted to be over there with them, but of course Daryl had to be a good 6 yards from people at all times.

"A girl," I said as I watched Carl smile at Judith in his arms. "One of The Governor's people."

Daryl shot me a look but I quickly dismissed it. He probably assumed that she was a bad person, but she wasn't. She was just a girl who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Her name was Lily," I said as I rested my chin on the butt of my gun.
"What happened to her?" Daryl asked me as he looked back at the others along with me. I cringed at the memory of Lily's brains splattered all over the walls.
"She killed herself while I was out," I replied. "I had to burn the house down. I couldn't stay there knowing that she had died in there."

Daryl nodded as if he understood before he grew silent again. I was pretty curious about who he ended up with. It seemed like everyone else ended up with someone from out group except me. Then again I was too crazy to realize they were my group.

"I was with Beth," he spoke, almost reading my mind. "I was with her for a while."

I lifted my head up and looked in his direction. If he had been with my sister, he would know who took her or at least what happened. "What happened to her?"

"Taken," Daryl replied with sorrow. It was almost as if he blamed himself for her being kidnapped, but I knew it wasn't his fault. "Black car."

"White cross on the back," I finished his sentence. I remembered what the car looked like in the back of my mind. I had to keep the picture there in order to find her. And I would find her one way or another. Daryl turned towards me and cocked his head. I could sense that he was questioning how I knew what the car looked like, so I continued.

"I was chasing the car down the road," I said, looking into the woods. "That's when Gareth and the others took me. Now I have no idea how I am going to find her."

Daryl nodded for a moment as he gazed into the woods with me. I thought I had heard something walking, but I must've been wrong. Nobody would be stupid enough to attack when we already had our weapons ready.
"I knew Gareth," I continued as I looked over at Daryl.

"Huh?" he questioned.

"I knew him before everything happened. We were close friends," I said, lying about the fact that Gareth and I were together. "He disappeared a few weeks before everything happened. That's the first time I've seen him since."

"Carol told me about seein' you on the road," Daryl said as he tried to changed the conversation. I frowned once he spoke those words. I had hoped Carol would keep that between us, but I guess she figured she could tell Daryl. I wouldn't me mad at her for doing so.

"I lost it after seeing my dad get killed," I began the story. "I killed The Governor. The girl I left with was going to do it, but I did it. After that, I just shut down. I didn't want to deal with the grief of losing him," I said as I looked over at him.
"Carol pulled me out of it. I owe her more than she knows."

"But you're okay now?" Daryl asked as he looked back in my direction. I nodded as I held his hand with mine. "I may not ever be the person I was before, but I'm okay now."

I looked in the distance to see the first sign of day appear in the sky. Rick wanted to get moving by sunrise, so I knew we would all have to get going soon. I also needed to thank Carol at some point. She saved my life in more ways than she could possibly know. She was the reason I was with the others today. If she hadn't been there, I would still be cooped up in that old house.

I slowly picked up my gun as I watched the others get ready to move out. As I did so, I quickly looked to the forest. I didn't hear anything, but I felt something. A terrible feeling shot through me as I sensed we were being watched. I didn't just sense it, I knew it. I knew for a fact that somebody was watching every single one of us.

I tried to shake off the feeling as I threw my gun around my shoulder and stood up. Whoever was watching us knew what they were doing. They knew they had to attack while we were weak, but we weren't. I moved my eyes away from the forest as I felt Daryl start walking behind me. The bad feeling stayed with me, however. It warned me to stay alert no matter what.

As I walked towards the other, I felt Daryl open up to talk behind me.

"So who are we now?" he asked as he stopped behind me. I slowly spun around to see his face staring back at me. The sight made me smile. It was amazing how he still gave me butterflies to this day. I smiled at him before taking his hand, pulling him along with me.

"I'm me and you're you. And I love you. Now let's go."
