Run.
That was the only thing I could do by the time I reached Atlanta. Walkers filled the city, but I was able to avoid the horde for the most part. I didn't really have a way to defend myself either. My back was aching worse than any of my other wounds. The bullet hole was closing up slowly. I didn't know about my head. I hadn't taken the bandages off to view the damage. I was too afraid to.I knew I wouldn't find anything in Atlanta. I was positive it was looted months ago. Maybe years ago. I didn't know how long this entire thing had been going on. How do you know how long it has been since the world ended? You don't. Once I was past all of the walkers, I began examining my surroundings. There were many buildings around me that I couldn't identify. They were so worn down that I couldn't tell what they were. I could identify a hospital in the distance, however.
If I could get there, I could help myself. They could've had supplies left for me to take. God knows I needed some pain pills to get to wherever I was going. Washington was out of the question. I had to stay away from the others. That Negan guy forced me to make that choice. We were all bound to run into each other eventually. How would I explain faking my death and running away? I knew it was better for them to think I was dead, but I couldn't do that to Daryl. God knows what he would've done if he thought he lost me.
I observed my surroundings in an attempt to find a way to let him know I was alright. I didn't know if they would ever come to Atlanta, but I could hope they would pass through here. My eyes spotted a walker lying on the ground, moving slightly. I was grossed out by the idea of spilling his guts to send a message, but it was better than nothing.
I cringed as I slowly kneeled down next to the walker. Slight growls escaped his lips as he realized human flesh was near. I knew he was far too weak to even move, so I didn't worry about him deciding to attack. I sucked in a breath before driving my knife deep into his stomach. I gagged at the sight of him ripped open. My body wanted to vomit, but I didn't let it. I had to get this done.I slowly dipped my fingers into the blood and began spelling out Daryl's name. It took me a few disgusting dips until I was finally finished. This was really a hit or miss. If it rained, proof I was alive would be gone forever. Maybe that was a good thing. I let out a sigh as I slowly began moving to my feet. When I went to spin around, I was met by a bag that was thrown over my head.
"Gareth," I screamed as I began trying to fight him. I wasn't sure it was him, but who else was gonna throw a bag over my head?
I felt a needle go into my arm and everything faded to black.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My alertness and hostility went to 100 as my eyes fluttered open. I felt nothing but anger as I allowed my eyes to adjust to the light from the roof above me. I was ready to kill whoever was around me. I didn't care who they were.
"You're awake," a female voice noted once I was fully aware of my surroundings. I was in a hospital. I didn't know how I got here or who brought me here. All I knew was that they were the bag guy. They had to be eliminated. I guess you could say this was when everything changed. After I woke up from being taken yet again, my entire outlook on life changed. I had finally gone to shit with the rest of the world. I knew I had to kill anybody who crossed my path.I moved my eyes to the female looking down at me with rage. I knew she could sense the hostility that was within me. I glanced at a male officer with her for a split second before moving my gaze back to her.
"Calm down," the female said as she realized how angry I was. "We saved you back there."You didn't save me. You fucking took me hostage.
I didn't utter a word as I continued watching her. I slowly moved my arms closer together beneath the blanket. I ran my fingers across the IV stuck in my arm. My wounds felt much better, but I didn't care. I was going to slaughter these people."What's wrong with her, Dawn?" the male muttered to the female as I stayed silent, staring at them both. "Is she mute?"
Dawn rolled her eyes at his words. "Can you speak?"
I still didn't speak a word. I didn't even nod at them. I slowly pulled the tape off of the top of the IV as they continued speaking.
"We saved you," the male said much slower, mocking my intelligence. "So you owe us."
Once he spoke those words, I ripped the IV out of my arm and let out a terrible scream as I lunged at him. I drove the IV into his neck multiple times while screaming frantically. Dawn finally reacted by snatching me off of him and throwing me to the floor. The man clutched his throat as the ability to breath left his body.I could hear footsteps running to the room and I decided to make a break for it. I was stopped by multiple officers grabbing me and slamming me to the ground. I never stopped screaming the entire time. You would've thought I was a mental patient. That's exactly what I looked like.
"No! No!" Dawn screamed as life began fading from the officer. I killed him. I killed a man in cold blood, but I didn't care. I didn't care about anything anymore.
The officers paused for a moment before opening a door near us in the hall. I tried to fight them from throwing me inside, but I couldn't.I had no time to escape before the lock clicked and I was left inside.
