~Maggie's pov~

From the moment Daryl walked in the door, my heart stopped. We all stared in disbelief as we saw him walk through the doors behind Michonne. I didn't know what was worse. Him living without Elizabeth or me living without Elizabeth. Either way, the absence would kill us. Daryl moved his eyes around the room, scanning to see who was here. When he didn't see Elizabeth or Bob, he quickly looked to me. I bit my lip as I watched somebody follow Michonne and Daryl into the room.

When I didn't recognize him, I quickly cocked my head at Daryl. The young man seemed harmless enough, but we couldn't really take chances with people anymore. Especially not after that happened recently.

"You wanna explain?" Rick asked as he slowly walked over to Daryl. Rick was still pissed off with what happened to Elizabeth. I just hoped he didn't try to take it out on Daryl.
"Found the people that got Beth," Daryl said as he looked over at me for a split second. "Carol and I followed them out to Atlanta. They got Carol."

"I hope it was worth it," Sasha said as she stood up from where she sat. Sasha wasn't coping well at all with any of this. Something told me she was going to smart off at Daryl when nothing was his fault. "We lost two people while you were gone."

"Sasha," I said as I put my hand on her shoulder. She quickly shrugged it off and kept her eyes on Daryl. "They would still be here if you had stayed."

"Is there somethin' I need to know?" Daryl asked, giving her a cocky tone as well. I wanted to break this up, but there was no way I could. Sasha wasn't coping well and neither would he once he found out.

"If you had stayed you would've heard the screams," Sasha began with tears in her eyes. "You could've saved them. You were already out there."

"I ain't following."

Sasha scoffed as she slowly looked towards Rick. She wiped her mouth before looking down at the floor. Though she was hurting, she wasn't heartless enough to tell Daryl this way. She was right as much as I hated to admit it. Carol and Daryl would've been able to hear the screams if they stayed. But I would've went after Beth just as they did. Sasha needed to understand both sides.

"Whatever," Daryl said as he shook his head at her. "Where's Elizabeth? We gotta get going."
My heart ached as I heard her name being mentioned. I slowly moved my eyes to Glenn to find he was already looking back at me. I could tell that panic was swirling inside of Daryl when none of us gave him an answer.

"She's exactly where Bob is," Sasha said as she looked back up at Daryl. Daryl seemed relieved and confused by this answer.

"And where's that?"

Silence filled the room as we all looked at each other. None of us knew what to say to him. He was wanting answers that we didn't want to give him. Daryl wouldn't take this well in any shape or form. He would be worse than Sasha. Rick and the others slowly went outside, leaving me and Sasha to break the news to Daryl.

"What's going on?" Daryl asked as he watched Rick exit the door. Sasha and I continued to stand in silence, not parting our lips. Daryl got very irritated with this after a few moments. "Anybody got the power to speak?"

Sasha slowly looked up at him with her head cocked to the side. "She's dead."

Daryl stared at her with complete shock for a moment before he shook his head at her. He had a look on his face that told me he wasn't going to believe anything we were saying to him. "She ain't."
"She is," I agreed. Daryl's eyes moved to me once I confirmed that everything was true.

"Gareth killed her," Sasha said as she bit her lip. "He got her the night you disappeared and he killed her in front of Bob. There was nothing anybody could do."
Daryl slowly rubbed his face in disbelief as he continued looking at us. He had tears in his eyes as he learned we were speaking the truth. "Did you bury her?"

"They took her body," I said as I looked down at the ground. "I went back. There was too much blood for her to be alive."

"So," Daryl began as I sensed anger rising inside of him. "What you're sayin' is they got her body. They got her body and we're not gonna do nothing about it?"

Sasha shook her head after Daryl grew silent. "There's no way. Gareth and his people are dead too."

Daryl shook his head at us as he pulled his crossbow from his back. He rushed through the door to the others as they moved their eyes to us. Everything stayed silent for a few moments before Daryl parted his lips to speak.
"We gotta find Beth. We gotta do it for Elizabeth."
