It was quiet. The air was cold when it hit his skin. He felt limp and cold, eyes were open but no light could be seen. It was as if he was in a box; an empty box.
Walking through the small area, he turned around the corner, a single light flickered when he did. It was small. Smaller than his hand maybe. He looked down at his hand, now seeing it unlike before.
He continued to get closer to the flickering light, and as he got closer, the light stopped flickering. It got bigger. And he started--hearing voices--muffled voices.
The light was bright. Almost a burning bright. He gazed at it as it cleared---people..?

Midnight sat up quickly, breathing heavily and quickly while he adjusted himself. His head hurt, the wound from those few days ago was still stinging and bleeding. It seemed to hurt more now then the days before, even if it was healing. Midnight pulled out his phone and checked the time. It was early--four thirty in the morning; many hours before he needed to get up for school. Midnight sighed, knowing he couldn't sleep.
He got up, feet feeling weak and legs wobbly. The cold air pricked at his skin as he walked to open the door, the bright lights of the hallway were on when he looked out. The downstairs lights were on as well.
As he walked down the stairs, he heard shuffling. Like someone was moving. It was weird to him, as far as Midnight knew no one was awake. He turned around the piler on the wall to the kitchen. 'Fawn..mom?'
"Mom?" He frowned seeing her sat on the counter, stirring a spoon in a dark purple liquid taht was in a tall glass cup. 'What is that?' Midnight wondered. 'Is it..bad?'
"Midnight," She jumped in her seat hearing him walk closer. "You scared me son."
"Sorry.." He sat on a stool on the other side of the counter. Her expression was blank, but turned loving when she glanced up at her son. "I didn't mean to scare you." He added. She shook her head at his apology. "No. It's okay."
"W-why are you here? I thought you'd be at home with Lilly," Midnight paused. "or Willow.."
"No." Fawn shrugged, pulling her hand away from the edge of the spoon and putting it on the counter. "Lilly and I had a disagreement over you and--." 'Me?' "it was over --" She hesitated. "you going back to guardian school."
"No!" Midnight loudly disagreed. "I can't..I won't. You guys are crazy for-"
"Mid," She placed her hand on his resting one. "It wasn't an official choice. And it wasn't mine." She removed her hand, gazing at him with wide eyes. "I won't blame Lilly for thinking of the idea, I never would blame her. She was recommending it because of what happened a few days ago, and she's worried about you."
'For once,' He thought, snorting openly. Fawn continued without a reaction. "I get that too. I was terrified when she told me that Dawn picked you up like that. But I am not going to say her opinion was right." Fawn gulped. She stood up to grab a water, then opening the freezer to grab an ice pack. "Here," She handed it to him. "I can tell your head hurts."
"It does." He muttered, taking the ice pack and pressing it to his head. The frost on the side pricked the skin of his head, but soon melted to drip down his face. Fawn sat back down in her original seat, she softly smiled. "Enough about my issues Midnight. Tell me what's bothering you."
"What?"
"I'm your mother," She chuckled. "I can tell something is bothering you."
"Just the incident from a few days ago." He mumbled, shutting his eyes with a shake of his head. "Nothing big."
"Even if it was that," Fawn countered. "It wouldn't be bothering you this much." Midnight shuffled. He knew she was right, more than right. What was bothering him was the dream--or vision. But it seemed more like a dream, which was odd. Though he didn't go training for the vision stuff, he could see this might be a vision.
"Fine. Okay." Midnight took a deep breath. "I had a vision."
"Oh! Really?" Fawn interrupted happily, a grin hitting her face, along with surprise.
"Yeah. An-And I wasn't sure what it was telling me. I--this isn't my first vision--I believe--but this is the first one I couldn't completely understand. It wasn't really telling me anything clear li-like I was supposed to find the meaning. This is unlike the others too." He stammered, his eyes feeling wet under the pressure of confusion. Fawn seemed to look down in the middle of his explanation, she looked worried. Maybe scared. "Oh Mid.." She pulled him into a hug. "I understand you're confused, and how your evi--other magic is making things more difficult. But these visions are important." She pulled away from him. "And you must tell someone every time you have one. Even Lilly." Despite wanting to argue, he nodded, feeling a thumb wipe his tears away from his cheek. "Okay. I will."
