Darkness.

A cold. Alone. Darkness.

It felt like a winter night. The chill of what had seemed like a below-freezing night pressed along his skin. As he breathed it burned his throat and nose. Small wet spots speckled his cheeks.

Why was he feeling like this?

The fog of the cold night cleared. It was now warmer. Like a heater was on, blowing at him.

Dim lights shined in the space. He was in something. But he couldn't tell what.

Yelling. Lots of yelling. Finally, hearing was odd. Especially because the muffled sound came out with a sudden pop.

The box he was in felt uneasy. It started to Speed. Then skid. A..car?

Crash! Metal scraping across the hard cold what he assumed was tar. Glass shattering. The glass hit his face. He was now laying on his side. He couldn't see what was near him. But the source of yelling was seen. And orbs of color was blinking in his eyes.

Soon he could see the blue and red lights. He turned his head over and saw blank, unconscious faces. Four teenage boys whose appearance could hardly be recognized.

And they were still.

Very.

Still.

Were they okay?

Another car door opened and shut near him. Footsteps smacked at the road. "Car accident. Four teenage boys. We need an ambulance; two of them are badly hurt."

'What?'
