Midnight woke up with a slight cold draft seeping through the window. He also could hear the soft snoring of Nick.

He rolled over to look at him. He was sleeping so peacefully. His dimples folded in and he looked calm, the blanket was half over his legs to only cover his thighs. His hand was at his face. Midnight smiled. The feeling of comfort, no worries, filled him.

'Why am I so comfortable around him? Why do I think of him the way I do.' He huffed a large breath. 'Something is wrong with me.' Something had to be wrong. He couldn't think Nick was attractive. He only knew him for almost two weeks.

But, he did think he was attractive. 'Am I not supposed to?' He didn't know what to think.

"Morning Sky Kid." A scratchy voice entered his ears. Nicks voice of course. It was quiet, and when he looked at him he was now leaning slightly on his elbow. "How did you sleep?"

"Good." He replied simply. Even though he was thinking something completly different. 'Better with someone like you around to keep me sane.'

"I'm glad. At least you didn't have to go home covered in uncomfortable clothes." He blinked his tired brown eyes. "By the way mother took the clothes to wash them. They should be done by now. Downstairs."

"Yeah. Tell her thanks. I appriciate it."

"I will." It was quiet. A weird quiet. Nick coughed. "Yeah alright well. You want to..have breakfest?"

"Oh.." Midnight tried to keep the heat on his face to a minimum. "Of course."

~~~
After an amazing breakfast cooked by Nicks mother, Midnight got his clothes from the dryer and got dressed. Nick volunteered to drive him home. In a way Midnight didn't want to go home. He didn't want to go back and have to talk to his parents, his sister, Leah.
He just wanted to stay where he was. With Nick. Someone he felt knew him.
Midnight exited the car and waited for Nick to follow. "It was great seeing you." Nick leaned next to him on the car door. "Yeah." MIdnight agreed, crossing his arms on his chest.
"Listen," Nick put his arm to trap Midnight on the car, his body moved in front of him. His warm breath was making puffs of vapor. Nick leaned near his face. "Please if something happens let me know? Or..if something happened at that family thing..please." He could tell Nick was trying not to be angry. "Just tell me."
"I will." Midnight nodded.
Nick took his arm off of the car. Going back to the driver seat door. "Well again, good to see you."
"Right."
Midnight sent Nick a tired wave. After turning he heard his car start behind him. He was leaving. Of course he was, he had to. Midnight hesiated even going inside. Even trying. He was going to get yelled at anyway, what was the point of even going inside?
But he did.
Walking to the doorway he could already hear thier yells in his head. Deep breaths. Deep breaths. Deep-
He hovered his hand on the doorknob for a second before putting his hand on it and turning. He felt as if he wanted to throw up.
Fawn was right at the stairs when he stepped in she looked like she had been crying. Lilly was at her side, hand along her back.
Leah and Dawn were also in the kitchen. They all looked up when he shut the door. Their faces were shock. Utter. Complete.
Shock.
Fawn whiped the back of her hand on her eye. She detached from Lilly, wrapping her arms around Midnight. "Oh Mid. I was so worried about you." She whispered against his shoulder.
"I'm fine." He said blankly. Feeling his body continue to shake.
"Nevermind that you're fine. We can see that." Lilly snapped. "Where the hell were you?"
Fawn let go of him. Her head turned to Lilly. He guessed her face looked angry. "Don't yell at him. He's upset Lilly."
"Fawn he's been missing all night. How do you expect me to react?" She stared at him. "And not to mention Kurt freezing to death, passed out on the stairs." He wanted to yell that he didn't hurt him. Or he didn't try to. And thag he didn't purposefully leave him there. But his mouth clamped shut.
"Where were you?" Fawn asked him gently.
He looked up. For a moment it was as if Lilly wad going to burn a hole through his skull. He took a deep breath. His exhale was the hope for words. "I was at a friends."
"What friends?! You left without telling us!"
"Maybe I left without telling you because it didn't matter if I told you, you didn't care about where I was either way." He sneered.
"We do care!" Lilly countered. "I was looking for you all night. Fawn couldn't sleep. Leah was asking if anyone knew where you were. Your sister--"
"That's bullshit if I have ever heard it. You are afraid of me. You wouldn't care if I died, or i was taken by Sara or I was murdered." He paused. "Maybe that's why I asked Nick to pick me up instead of all of us go home."
"Midnight." Lilly's voice softened. She held her forehead with her pinched fingers. "I--we all care about you. I would never want to see anything happen to you. Your my son."
"I'm not your son."
"Even if you don't consider me your mother I still care about you."
Midnight frowned. Her words were lies. All lies. She was never telling the truth about caring about him. She only wanted to make Fawn happy. To please Fawn and for them to get married. She had to be nice to him to stay with his mom. It was never for him.
He shook his head. "Whatever. I don't care. Leave me alone for the rest of vacation."
"Midnight what is with this attitude?" Lilly's voice wasn't soft anymore. Her voice was now stern. 'Parent like.'
"What attitude?"
"This dark and depressing attitude. The pity seeking attitude. Why can't you get rid of this vendetta you have?"
"I don't have a fucking attitude." He finally snapped. "Why the fuck do you think this shit is an attitude? I'm not looking for attention, I'm looking for help, which you won't give me. Fuck off."
Lilly looked stunned. Fawn froze. Fawn edged closer to Lilly. "I think we should let him be. He's been through enough tonight." Fawn whispered. 'I don't think she wanted me to hear that.'
They both walked off to the kitchen with Dawn and Leah. They were still looking at him when he glanced at them. But looked away when he looked.
He waited for a few minutes. His body was trying to calm. Every nerve was bursting. Midnight walked to the stairs and up, running into his room and slamming the door.
'What now?'
