Midnight's body felt stiff. What. Was. That?

He was so close. Closer than he had been to him before. Had he always been trying not to be close? But just then..he saw something else in his eyes. Though the emotion was so tough to break.

Nick was confusing.

Midnight looked through the clothes for the next two hours until finding a small clothing set, a pajama set he hoped Leah would appreciate. It did come with a coffee grounds bag (Caramel of course) and two wine glasses. Along with that he bought her a simple grey cartigan. She wore them all the time, she would like it.

'I mean what do women like?'

Midnight walked out of the store. With that still feeling. It was weird. Nick had never done that. He shoved his hands into his pockets while walking around a corner. 'Stop thinking about him already! He just was being nice.'

"Midnight!" Dawn waved her arm from the nearest bench. Bags from various stores were piled next to her. He walked to his sister. "How was it?"

"How was wh-what?" Midnight bit his lip nervously. "The shopping?"

"Yes Midnight."

"Oh..right.." He paused, putting down the shopping bag on the other bags beside his twin. He sat next to her and sighed. "Yeah it was--great--yeah."

Dawn didn't seem believing when he glanced at her face. She was an empath. Then again, she wasn't that good with her powers yet. Her green eyes flashed uncertainty, her eyebrows raising. She crossed her arms. "So who was that?"

The feeling of his cold blood made him freeze and widen his eyes. "Who was who?"

Dawn hit his shoulder with her elbow. "Come one Mid." She whined in an annoyed tone. "That guy..The one you almost kis--" She started to taunt.

"I did not almost kiss him!" Midnight snapped. He didn't want to snap but he couldn't stand to hear something like that. He did not almost kiss him. It was Nick being Nick. A traditional bad boy with someone innocent. Plus he was saying goodbye. It wasn't like--

"Plus." Midnight started to add. "He has a girlfriend." He tried not to huff afterwards. Dawn scoffed. "And you sound like you're disappointed why?"

"I don't." He frowned. "I don't and I don't care. He has someone, so what."

Thankfully, before Dawn could speak anymore, Fawn and Lilly stepped upe with bags in their hands. Leah following close behind. She looked like the third wheel waking with them. 'Would that be me, Britney and Nick?' He wanted to yell at himself for thinking about him again.

"You guys done?" Fawn asked excitedly.

Dawn nodded and stood up, pulling Midnight up by his arm. "Yes we are mothers..Let's go!" She pulled her brother to the doorway.

'Home now I guess.'

When Dawn told Midnight they were going home he should have known it was a lie. They went to at least ten other stores. While just walking out.

Midnight just wanted to get home. Christmas was coming close and he was exhausted already.

The car pulled up into the driveway while Midnight was almost asleep. He was half asleep on the car ride anyway. Fawn parked the car and climbed out, opening the trunk behind him she started to take out her bags. "Why did you cover them?" Dawn asked.

Midnight heard his mother sigh as he stretched out his sleeping state. "Dawna." He could imagine Dawn rolling her eyes at being called her full name. Fawn kept talking. "You know we keep the presents covered. Christmas is a surprise. I even covered our presents which are at the bottom."
