Days went by with Lilly back in the house. Dawn was okay with it when she finally arrived back home from Leah's house. He didn't understand how she could ever be okay with her. After she abandoned them, after all the things she did throughout her life. Throughout his life too. He couldn't forgive her. Not to mention what she had done to him. He remembered the day. He was a kid.She said those words: "Sometimes you can't help being scared of him, what he can do.."
He felt tears start in his eyes even thinking about it. How could she, his mothers future wife, say something like that?
She knew what his mother would think. And she still said that to her.

Midnight woke up the morning before Christmas. Christmas eve. He wondered how Christmas would even be. Even if it was tomorrow. He wondered about how it would be with Lilly. Hurt ached his bones.
He quickly pulled himself off of his bed, walking to his closet to pull on a black over sized hoodie and dark blue jeans.
When walking downstairs he heard his mom, as well as Dawn and Leah. Lilly wasn't there. He didn't see her in the room when he reached it. "Hey mom." He slowly said.
Leah and Dawn both turned. They looked unusually happy. "Hey Mid!" Dawn rushed over to grab his arm. "We have a proposal."
"Um okay." He attempted to take his arm away since the stinging of his skin started. Dawn sat him across from Leah. "So we want to go Christmas shopping."
Right. Christmas shopping. If he had to do any of it with Lilly he would go mad. He could hardly be nice to her for Christmas, let alone an entire shopping trip with her.
But if he had to--
No.
Midnight stared at the both of them. Then his mom. They were all looking at him with those unusually happy stares. "Christmas shopping." He repeated. "With whom exactly?"
Dawn stopped. She didn't want to tell him. Obviously. Her green eyes looked to Leah, then their mother. "Well--I mean--Lilly maybe."
"No!" He snapped shaking his head profusely. "Absolutely the fuck not. I will not go with her."
"Come on Midnight." His mother started. Her hand was on his shoulder. "You said you would get along with her for the holidays."
"Yes I did." He crossed his arms. "But that doesn't mean I agreed to go shopping, Christmas shopping with her."
Midnight looked at Dawn. Who was now looking at his arms. "What?"
"Are you still doing it?"
Midnights body froze. He felt a shiver. No. Why was she asking now? Why at all? Midnight couldn't tell the truth either. He might have. The day before he did. But it wasn't intense. It wasn't like the day he saw Nick. Which, he had not talked to in a few days. That was when he thought about--
Midnight shook his head. "No." He looked at Leah. Who looked like she knew he was lying. "I haven't. Now stop pestering me about it randomly and actually talk about Christmas."

A few hours later Dawn had somehow managed to drag Midnight out of the house, along with Lilly; unfortunately. The entire car ride was awkward as well, just Midnight quietly sitting, scrolling through his phone on numerous social medias, but at least he didn't need to sit next to Lilly.
That would have been Hell. Actual Hell. More than Hell.
He sat next to his sister though, with Leah using her own car to meet them
