"Why do the bad guys get the cool toys? Mount Weather and now Alie? It's moments like this that I consider switching sides."

"Avery shut up and get the damn battery!"

When I get back out I see Bellamy still with the rifle raised towards Nylah, both eyes glancing to me as I leave the back room. I remain silent knowing that arguing with Bellamy right now is pointless and frankly I don't have the energy for it. Pacing over to the service bench I lean my back on it, folding my arms across my chest as I stare blankly towards the wall across the way. In my head I cannot cease the replay of her violent thrashing. Her screams are still heard through the Trading Post and I find myself flinching every time Raven's voice reaches a new peak. It's horrific. Hearing the curtain pulled aside I observe Sinclair, Monty, and Clarke all step back into the room. Their wary worried expressions don't escape me.

"How the hell do we get that thing out of her head?" Clarke thinks aloud to us, her blue eyes roaming us for suggestions.

"We're working on it", Monty tells her when the room remains silent.

"I'm going to take first watch", I murmur quietly to the empty room breezing past Nylah, Bellamy, and Clarke.

"Ave you don't have a weapon", Monty calls out behind me "Your daggers are still buried in the dropship wall." I don't say a word. Despite how wrong it feels to ignore Monty I needed fresh air and an escape from the bloodcurdling screams.

Dirt crunching under my boots I round the rover. Continuing around I haul myself up onto the bonnet, laying back against the protected windshield. My deep brown eyes fall to the stars as I watch them sparkle in the sky. Sometimes it's hard to believe I use to live up amongst them. From down here they seem so far away and distant. "Do you mind if we join?" Hearing Clarke's voice I peer down to see her stood beside Bellamy, both staring sadly up at me.

Nodding I gesture for them to climb up, "Free country am I right?" Neither laugh at my poor attempt of a joke, both silently struggling up. Clarke rests beside me on my right whilst Bellamy lays on my left. For a while nobody speaks, the three of us laid side by side staring at the stars. "It's too much to bear without you both", I mutter quietly under my breath. Shaking my head when their gazes fall to me, I explain "I tried so hard to do the right thing whilst you-Bell- went off following Pike's orders and while you- Clarke- remained in Polis doing lord knows what."
