"You know you're supposed to throw the trash out not bring it with you right?"
"Still as charming as I remember."
"Alright," Roan speaks up when we reach the city limit of Polis "This is where we split up." Standing from my crouched position I bring myself to look away from Polis and back towards Roan. Pointing off in the distance, Roan explains to us "The entrance to the tunnels is off in that distance."
"We know where it is", Bellamy assures Roan, a clipped edge to his voice from the stress we are putting ourselves under. If one thing is to go wrong we're all left vulnerable and in enemy territory. I love a good risk better then anyone here but even I'm skeptical about our plans follow through.
For a second we wait for Roan to get a move along, only he doesn't. Instead he stands around watching Clarke, the words on the tip of his tongue. Rolling my eyes, I kick at some dirt impatiently "We're not getting any younger here Roan."
Roan's gaze flickers briefly to me before he turns back to Clarke, "I'm going to need the Flame." Clarke remains quiet as Roan explains, "Look this only works if they send Ontari out to get it. If they don't see it they won't do that."
Understanding his point I add, "It's not much of a trap without bait."
Watching Clarke scour off into the forest I prepare myself to fight her on this. Roan has a point. They need to see he's still on their side and has what they want. Disgruntled Clarke reaches into her pocket and reluctantly hands Roan over the tin. "Fine", she pointedly agrees "But I'm coming with you."
"No way", Bellamy instantly is shutting Clarke's whim down "That is not the plan."
Without sparing us a look, Clarke keeps her hard gaze on Roan "It is now."
"Seriously Clarke?" I scoff with a raised eyebrow "You're pulling this shit now?"
Rolling her eyes Clarke doesn't waver when she informs Bellamy and I, "I'm not letting that out of my sight and I'm the only one who knows the passphrase." Before I can speak up and wonder where I'd been when she'd learned it her stern blue gaze remains on me tells me otherwise. With a mutual understanding, I remain silent, "So you can tell Ontari that without me she cannot ascend."
