"Hey", Clarke holds Monty up from taking Nylah's newest batch of dried meat "Any word from Jaha? Did they find Bellamy's unit?"
"Yeah", Monty replies and for a second my hope sparks before I catch him sarcastically add "They're back and we forgot to tell you." Monty breezes past Clarke angrily and is about to brush past me. Before he can I reach out and latch my hand around Monty's arm giving him a stern look. He must see the nerves bouncing around in my gaze because Monty sighs, sympathising "Sorry Ave. No. Nothing yet."
Releasing Monty I have to refrain myself from kicking over a bucket on my way down the ramp in Mecha. Despite my erratic gaze Nylah musters a kind smile "Hello Avery. Good to see you as always."
"Good seeing you too Nylah", I reply mustering up the best smile I can as I give her the traditional Grounder greeting. Yet I excuse myself just as quickly and storm anxiously towards the gate for the hundredth time since night fell. With the dawn breaking my anxiety over Bellamy's safety has become horribly acute. Drawing closer to Harper I give her a polite nod before searching the grasslands once more.
"Still no sign", Harper informs me regretfully "No word from Jaha on their whereabouts either."
Groaning I run my hands anxiously through my hair "I should've gone with them. Morons probably can't track for the life of themselves."
