Easter hat

Y/N POV 

It was an early Thursday morning. Tomorrow was Noah's (your son aged 4) easter parade and me and Shawn  still hadn't made his hat. You see Shawn's been really busy at the studio but he insisted he wanted to help.

"Y/n I promise you i'll be home early to make this hat." Shawn whined

"Shawn.. you say that everyday" I said looking down onto the floor

"I know, but I promise i'll be there ok" he said

"Fine, you better not let me or Noah down"

"I won't, now I gotta go bye my love" he replied as he kissed my forhead and left for work.

I sighed and began to tidy up whilst Noah was still sleeping. Half an hour and a sleepy Noah walked down.

"Heya baby" I cooed at Noah as I lift him up placing him on the kitchen stool

"Hello mummy, can we make the hat now" Noah questioned

"Not right now, you have to eat breakfast then wait for Daddy to help you" I answered

Noah's eyes lit up "Daddy's going to help"

"Yes"

"Yayy" Noah cheered as he continued to eat his breakfast.

~ Time skip

Hours passed. Shawn still hadn't arrived. It was 6:30 and it was nearly time for Noah's bed time. I didn't want to start making the hat without Shawn so I set up the couch for movie time with cushions and blankets. "Noah, what do you want to watch"

"SpongeBob squarepants" Noah immediately answered as he began to re act the theme tune,

I laughed at the adorable sight in front of me and started the movie.

30 minutes passed. No Shawn. 1 hour passed. No Shawn. I sent multiple texts and yet he never replied. Soon, Noah slept peacefully in my arms so I picked him up and took him back to bed and i made my way back too the main room to wait for Shawn. I began to sob quitley to myself. 

"You promise Shawn, you promised me" I whispered to myself

Shawns Pov

I opened the door revealing my beautiful wife sleeping on the couch. It was approximately 10pm when I had arrived. I was late I promised my wife i'd be here. 

I walked up to my wife and kissed her cheek gently and careful not to wake her. As my lips placed on to her cheeks I noticed a stray tear on the other side of her face. Shit. I thought I let her down. Both of them. What kind of husband and father am I?

As I buried myself In thoughts y/n eyes began to open.

"Heya babe" I said smiling weakly at her

She never replied.  Instead she got up and made her way to our shared room. "Babe" I said grabbing hold of her wrist. 

Y/n spun around and whispered quietly " Let me go Shawn, you promised me, you promised you'll be there, and I waited for you" 

My heart broke as she said these words. 

"I'm so sorry y/n." I said trying to make her look at me

"Don't be sorry to me, be sorry when you tell your son why you never came" she replied as she quickly left to go to bed.

I had to fix this mess I thought as I made my way to the office room.

~ the next morning (y/n pov)

I woke up still upset by yesterdays events. Shit I thought. I still didn't make Noah's hat.

As I made my way downstairs, I heard the sound of the familiar giggling of Noah and Shawn. I made my way towards them when Shawn noticed me and said "Tada this is my masterpiece"

I looked stunned at the hat created by Shawn. "Wow, you did this"

Shawn nodded proudly and got u next to me " I promised you didn't I and I always keep my promises".

"But how did you make it, you came home late" I asked him

"I stayed up a little longer" he answered smiling 

"Thank you Shawn" I said as I kissed him

"Eww mommy you kissed daddy" Noah said as he paraded around the room.

I laughed and sat on the kitchen stool. 

"So... y/n and Noah do you forgive me for being late" Shawn questioned us both.

"Yes" me and Noah replied in unison

"Thank you daddy.. for my hat its the best one EVER!" Noah said as he hugged Shawn.

"It's ok bud" Shawn replied.

Suddenly I felt Shawn's arms wrap around my waist he got closer to my ear and whispered "He's not the only one who's going to call me Daddy tonight. With that he winked and left the room.

God that guy. I love him so much
