Chapter 1 begins after a summer that kind of changes Liam and Ally's friendship. Read to find out what happened and why and how.

"Allyson Brooke Hernandez, wake up," my mom speaks. I groan, covering my eyes from the brightness of the room. "You don't want to be late for your first day of Senior year."

I rise from my bed upon hearing that. Although I wasn't fully awake, I was excited. This year is going to be a blast and, hopefully, quick as well. I'm kind of bummed though, to be honest. It's going to be my last school dance. My last time being an actual kid. I'm already eighteen, but I still feel like I'm seventeen.

I uncover the sheets and walk into the bathroom. As I get ready, I think about how I want this day to go.

Hopefully, it's easygoing. I don't want anything bizarre to happen like last year. And don't get me started on what happened during that day. It haunted me for an entire semester before I finally escaped getting called a garbage mouth. I didn't mean it. It just happened.

I turn on my phone and read 7:34. I set my phone and tap on the steering wheel, waiting for Dinah to come out. I did not just rush out of the house and drove five minutes to just wait on her. She said she would be ready by 7:30. And I'm out here waiting.

I unlock my phone and dial Dinah's number. I press the phone against my ear and waited four beeps before she picks up. Before I can even complain, she blurts, "Sorry, Sorry. I had to get my siblings ready. I'm at the door and heading out right now."

I turn my head and see Dinah storming out of her house. Her hands were occupied by a couple of notebooks while her backpack hanged loose from her shoulder. She waves at me with her free hand as much as possible before she reaches my car.

"Dinah Jane—" I begin.

Dinah points at me. "Stop it," she cuts me off. Her eyes glance ahead of my car. And I take a glimpse of who she was looking at.

Harry Styles or people like to call him, 'Long hair, hippie-Harry.' I recognize him from his long hair, other wise I wouldn't remember the hundreds of people in my class. Harry worked on his tire pressure or something with his tires.

"Oh," I coo. Dinah blushed, and she covered her cheeks, so no one can see. I coo even more, seeing her sulking in her seat once Harry turned to our direction. "Aw, Dinah. You still have a crush on him?"

"Shh," she said, nudging me on my arm. I end up hitting the window and yelp a little. She rises up from her seat, acknowledging my pain, and speaks, "Oh, I'm sorry, Ally. I didn't mean it that hard."

"It's okay," I assure her, rubbing my arm. "I would've done the same if you brought up his name."

"Don't even talk about him," Dinah said. "He doesn't respect you. Thank goodness he showed his true colors before you two actually got together. What happened was an incident, and a stupid one."

I nod my head and turn on the engine. Before I pull into the street, a car passes by, and I look through their window and see none other than Louis and Niall passing by.

For a quick second, Louis, who's behind the wheel, turns his head and sees Dinah and me. He waves at us quickly, and his eyes seem to be searching for Dinah's. I lean against my seat and see him waving at her. His eyes light up more.

I look at Dinah and see her ignoring Louis again. Her eyes continues to stare at Harry. I sigh, shaking my head and turn back to Louis, who looked away. A little disappointed. I coo lightly.
