Ally's POV

I rush to my Dad's apartment. I got a phone call earlier, saying that he had collapsed on the grounds of his house. The doctor came to see him, but he wanted to see me.

I knock on the apartment door. After a couple of seconds, Will opens the door. He gives me a faint smile, but his eyes were bothered by something else inside.

"How is he?" I ask.

Will shakes his head. "Not too good. You should take a look." He steps aside, and I enter the apartment. I rush into my dad's bedroom and see him lying down with the sheets covering him. He looked tired and a little sweaty. His glasses rested on the nightstand.

"Dad," I said. I stood by the bed and kneel down. "H-how are you? Wh-what's wrong?"

"My heart," He wheezes, "I need a heart transplant. The doctor said that if I don't, I won't be able to survive the following year."

"What?!" I exclaim. His eyes soften, and somehow, I knew what I had to do. I just didn't know how. "I...How am I suppose to get the money? It costs millions of dollars."

He smiles. "I think you know. You did it with your mother. You can do it for me too. But I don't know if you have forgiven me for what I did. If you don't get the money, it's okay. It's just a quicker reunion with your mother."

I shake my head. "No, I will find a way to help you too. I was able to help mom. I will be able to help you."

"This might just be karma for what I did to her," he says.

"No," I said. "You can't leave me. I'm not ready for you to leave me yet. I know we weren't on good terms for the past couple of years, but I need you still. I will find a way to get you the money."

He nods his head. He touches my left cheek, and I rest my hand on his wrist. He wipes the tear that was escaping my waterline. "Just don't do anything wrong," he says. "You're my precious princess." His smile widens, and I smile back. "Can you make me a promise?"

"What?" I ask.

"If I don't make it, will you please settle down and get married?" He asks. "I don't want you to spend your days alone. You're growing up and I don't want you to regret not having that special someone."

"Dad, I'm not even seeing anyone," I respond.

"You can start talking to Will," he says. "He's a good guy and will love you. He even told me, and I approve of him." I turn around and look at Will, standing by the door.

I face my dad quickly and speak, "Dad, you're going to make it. I promise you that."

"But what about Will? If you don't get the money in time, how will I know you're happy?"

I swallow hard and close my eyes. I fought against my heart and nod my head. "Okay, I will marry Will if and only if I fail. But I promise you that I won't. I will make sure that I won't."

He coughs, and I release my hand from his wrist. He keeps his smile and closes his eyes, sleeping. I stand up and turn to the door. I look at Will and walk up to him.

Will looks devastated as well, but this could've been his plan. Well, it worked. "Ally," he speaks up, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean—"

I raise my hand for him to stop talking. "You got what you wanted," I said. "I hope you're happy."

I walk pass him and exit the apartment. I walk down the stairs slowly, astonish. I'm practically a woman engaged now. I was someone who was not even seeing anyone to someone who is going to get married.
