Note: Only a few chapters left to wrap up the story.

In celebration to our engagement, Liam decided to take us out on a date. We roam around the mall first. Liam paid for all the clothes that I wanted. After, we went to go eat lunch. Then, he took me to the beach, the same one where we almost had our first time together there. We had another picnic, but this time, it was on a boat.

I was seated while Liam pushes the boat into the ocean. He climbs on board and across from me. The basket I brought was resting in between us, which we also used as a table.

I listen to the water hissing and feel the sun setting on my skin. The birds chirped. Liam rowed the boat with the dashing smile of his. The cold wind hits my skin, and I shiver. It almost feel as if we were in The Notebook.

Liam opens the basket and pulls out two cups and a bottle of wine. "Well, if the food is anything like my first attempt, the wine was always the best part," he says.

I chuckle. "They better be no salty pasta," I tease.

He gives me testy eyes and proceeds to fill the cups halfway with wine, and after, closes the bottle and sets it aside. We raise our glasses, and Liam states, "To a beautiful future with you, my fiancé and soon to be wife."

"Amen," I reply. We clank our glass, and I take a sip and swallow the refreshing fluid down my throat and rest my breath.

Liam pulls out two wrapped sandwiches, and it was his famous turkey sandwich I couldn't wait to devour. "I remember the last time I made this, and you loved it. So I wonder, why not?"

I chuckle. He hands me one of the sandwiches, and I take it. I unravel the wrap and examine the sandwich. My mouth waters, seeing the turkey, cheese, and lettuce in place. I take a bite and moan. The onions, mayonnaise, and ketchup complimented each ingredient, and I couldn't help but chew and swallow the rest within minutes.

"Lovely day, isn't it?" Liam says. I nod my head and wipe my lips, wiping the crumbs off my lips nervously. Liam chuckles, and I crease my brows.

"What?" I question.

He grabs a napkin from the basket and leans forward. He wipes off the mayonnaise below my bottom lip, and I flush out of embarrassment.

"There," He said.

"Thank you," I reply. I change the subject and answer his question, "Yes, today is lovely. Nature is so pretty." I look at the water and lean over a little, seeing my own reflection.

"I agree," Liam says. I turn to look at him as he spoke, "I like what I see. Lovely." His eyes twinkle at me, and I blush.

I cross my legs and fix my dress. I look at Liam's button up, white shirt. It was short sleeve. My ring glistens, and I feel my skin cooling down. The stars appear in the sky one by one.

I look around, finding us in the middle of nowhere. "Liam, where are we exactly?"

"Don't worry," he answers. "I'm taking you to see something. I know you'll enjoy it. I promise." Liam continues to paddle against the stream.

The sun fell out of the sky, leaving only a small swirl of red and yellow in the dark, blue, night sky. I see a spark of light up ahead in the distant. Then two sparks became visible as we came closer. And ultimately, multiple lights appear, and I knew what they were: fireflies. Thousands of them, floating around the shore.

Liam pulled the boat to the shore, where the fireflies scatter around us. I admire the beauty of the yellow light they gave off.

"They are so beautiful," I comment.
