Ally's POV

"'Dear Liam, you and I have been friend for years, and I want you to know that I am glad we've been friends for this long. I can still remember the very first moment that we met. It was a play date the community set up for little kids. And we ate our mini snack at the lunch table. And I remember you stealing my waffle, so I grab your arm and begin biting you until you gave me my waffle. Ever since then, you have shaped me into the girl that I am today, and I want you to know that I cannot ask for a better best friend than you. And I would just like to inform you that I like you and hope you feel the same way,'" I said.

Lauren chuckles out loud, waving her hand out in the open air. I lower the letter and look at them. Lauren and Normani sat on opposite ends of the couches. Dinah sat on the floor while Camila rested on the floor on her belly. All of us were in our pj's at Normani's house. "I'm sorry," Lauren says. "You bit him?"

I nod my head, a little embarrass. "Yes, but if you were to ask him, he said that I bit his neck, and I know that I did not. I have a picture of him at his birthday party. The mark is visible there. And if you look closer to his arm, you can still see the mark. I have no idea why he would think I bite his neck. I wasn't a vampire."

"Wow," Dinah comments. "Ally, you were an aggressive little thing, weren't you?"

I chuckle, recalling a childhood memory. "Oh, there was this one instance where we would play house. We were so cute. We found an injured cat and nurse it back to health before it ran away."

"Aww," Camila and Normani coo.

"You two are so cute," Dinah says.

I blush and cover my cheeks to hide the red. "Guys, okay," I said, "how did you think of my letter?"

"It needs to be rewritten," Lauren states. "It needs to be better. It's just...reword or add something. It feels like you wrote it just to write it. Write it like it came from you, not for school."

I nod my head and turn to Camila. "I think it's good, but I would never sent that to Zayn or any of my exes."

Dinah adds, "Be more confident with your feelings. Let your writing reflect how you feel."

"The question is what is your goal with the letter," Normani says. "Are you writing it just to prepare yourself? Are you going to give it to him? Do want him to just know? Or do want him to take you out on a date?"

I shrug, setting the letter down. "I don't know," I mumble.

"Then why are we even here?" Lauren questions. She leans forward on the couch. "Listen, Ally, I know that it's scary for you. Hell, I would be scared as well if I was in your position. You and Liam have been friends, but you need to overcome the fact that you two can be something more."

I nod my head. My hands tremble, and I begin to dig into my nails. "I know. I know." I sit down on the folding chair and remove the strands of hair out of my face.

"Ally, just take your time and write it," Lauren says. "Don't be in a rush. You have two more days before you tell him."

I shake all the jitters away and put the letter to the side. "Okay, let's get to studying." I unzip my backpack and pull out my textbook. "What page do we begin?"

"125-137," Camila answers, sitting back up.

I flip to the page and groan lightly at the long paragraphs on each page.

"Ally," Normani says.

"Yes, Mani," I reply, not taking my eyes off the page. I skim through each section and examine each word.
