Ten years later...
Ally's POV
I shut my car door behind me and climb up the staircase. I stop on the second floor and walk to the apartment door. It was nine, and Demi and Selena told me to come home because it was an emergency. I wonder what it was.
I pull the keys and jiggle the key into the lock. I turn it and hear it unlock. I open the door and see the lights were turned off. I grew curious. I flip the light switch on, and suddenly, a loud crowd blew my eardrums away.
"Happy Birthday!" They said as I covered my ears.
I close the door behind me and look at them in astonishment. "A surprise birthday party?" I question.
Demi walks up to me. "Yes, of course. You seriously think we're not going to. It's your twenty-eighth birthday."
"Just two years before I'm thirty," I said.
Demi chuckles. "Okay, well, we got cake and Chinese food."
I nod my head. I look at the visitors. I see Dinah, Camila, Normani, Lauren, Tori, Shawn, Will, and Mariah. I hug each one and thank them for coming. Selena was in the kitchen, handling the cake. As we wait for the food, the girls and I decided to catch up on life. It's been hard for all of us to hang out at the same time now.
Dinah has her own fashion line. Her and Louis has been married for six years now. Camila is pregnant. Again. Her third child with Zayn. Normani is getting engaged to Harry. And Lauren is getting a promotion at her job. Her and Niall have been getting pretty serious lately.
And then there's me. I'm not in a relationship right now. Although I have an admirer, I don't feel the same way as he does. I haven't really dated anyone since high school. I've went on a couple of dates, but I wouldn't really call those 'dates'. It was a night out to see if I was interested in them. But in result, none of the guys I've went out with are my type. They were either too soft or too cocky. I just want a guy who wants to get to know me and gets me. That's it. But I seem to be cursed with love.
I was talking to Tori, one of my friend I met at Atlantic, until Will walks up to Tori and me. We turn our attention on him. He looks at me with the same hopeful look in his eyes and says, "Ally, congrats on turning twenty-eight."
"Thank you," I said, feel a little bit awkward.
"So, are we still on for that second date?" He asks.
I shake my head. "Will, I'm sorry, but I'm not really looking into a relationship right now. I know you're my father's assistant, and I would just like for you to be that."
My dad and I weren't on good terms until two years ago, when my brother turned thirty. We met, and it was not the most reconnecting moment, but we eventually pass through to the point where we talked to one another. He tried to apologize multiple times for not being there and for cheating, but I didn't want to listen. It wasn't until he made this ridiculous bet with me, and I found it interesting. He said that if I don't marry by the time I turn thirty, he's going to pick my groom. I went with it because I hoped to find the one before that, and I am still looking for him. He teased me about it, and that just made me really miss him and his sense of humor. I didn't realize he was part of the missing piece I needed in my life, but ever since then, we grew closer.
"Okay, bye," Tori says to Will. Will sighs and glares at Tori before walking away. She turns to me and scoffs, "Doesn't he know the hint by now? You're not interested."
"I think he does, but he just wants to impress my dad," I said.
"He should stop," Tori says. I roll my eyes playfully.
