Liam's POV
I roam through the halls during lunch. I didn't know what else to do. I couldn't focus on the world surrounding me because my mind was overpowering everyone else around me. I couldn't talk to Ally when I wanted to. She is the person I always talk to first, and she's the person I need to talk to before anything else.
It's driving me crazy. The bond Ms. Cole and I have is unbelievable and forbidden. She is a teacher, and I am a student. I can't deny that I find her fascinating. Her beauty and her elegance really got to me. She held some unique qualities I have never seen a girl had before. Granted, she is in her twenties, or so she looks.
I don't know what's happening with me, but I certainly cannot deny that I find Ms. Cole more special every time I think about her. I could say the same thing about Ally.
Maybe Friday night was just a one time thing. Surely, I was wrapped up in on confronting Ally. Maybe that was the reason. It has to be. I have to find Ally and tell her.
I enter the gymnasium and see Harry and Louis sitting up on the stage, playing a hand game. I clear my throat and stood by the stage. "Harry, Louis," they turn their attention on me.
"What's up, mate?" Louis asks.
"Did Ally walk by?" I ask.
They shake their heads. Louis says, "No, but if she does, we will let her know you are looking for her."
"Thank you," I reply. I turn around, getting one last skim through the gym, and exit the room. I walk down the first floor and the curved hallway until a discord tune rips through my ears. I stop and look at the room closed beside me.
I peek through the window and see Ms. Cole distraught. She sat behind the piano, hitting random notes. She seemed like she cared less of the noise. Something occupied her mind by her state of staring off into the empty space.
I pull the handle and enter the room. I close the door behind me and walk to the piano. As I came closer, I hear the melody she was trying to play: the melody from Friday. I smile a little and speak up, "Good afternoon, Ms. Cole."
She darts her eyes up fast, causing the wind from it to knock down the music sheets. She groans lightly and stands up from her seat. I walk around and help her pick up the sheets. After we gather all of it, I hand her the sheets I got. She grasps the papers along with my hand, and my heart begins to race faster.
"Thank you," she says. She releases my hand and aligns the papers together before setting them back in place. She sits back down, not saying another word.
"Is there a problem?" I ask.
She didn't reply. She continues to play her disharmonious song. I scratch my earlobe and take the small space next to her. Her hands stop, and she looks at me like a trigger was pulled off.
I chuckle and explain, "You're playing it wrong. Put your hands back on the keys." Without thinking, I take her hands and set them on the keys. I situate each finger on their own key and raise my head to find her close. I back away a little and swallowed. Hard. "Okay, there," I said.
"I know how to play," she speaks, finally. "I just haven't been feeling it. Ever since Principal Cowell yelled at me on Friday for letting the students loose. Ugh! I knew I shouldn't have left." She buries her face in her hands and shakes her head.
"It's not your fault," I said. "I was the idiot who got a detention. Otherwise, you wouldn't have to assign me to do something."
She lifts her head and wets her lips, "Why exactly did you get a detention?"
