Queen Anne High School
Class 4 - A in the reign of the infamous glass-cleaner laugh owner, Kim Seokjin.
Dreadful.
I slithered my skinny body down my chair, slumping lazily as I threw a paper plane in the air, trying to aim at Seokjin. Instead it circled back to my direction causing me to duck, and making it fly out of the classroom window, causing the older to roar his stupendous laugh.
He knew how annoyed I was for waking me up at six in the morning.
Apparently, two more absents in the first period will definitely cause me to drop the subject and repeat it next school year, meaning I won't graduate. So being the "caring and responsible" one, Seokjin appointed himself as my personal alarm clock, barging in to my house early in the morning and spitting water in my face if I don't get up from my bed. As his reward, my dear mother would make him his own strawberry cheesecake every week. He did not disclose this with the others because it will become an instant competition; whoever wakes up Yoongi the fastest will have the cheesecake for himself.
Sigh. Another day. I don't even know why I had to endure school. If it were not for my parents who invests so much just to ensure I am well educated, I dropped out and would have just contented myself as my dad's humble. But I needed to finish high school and get to college. I dreamed to be an architect just like him.
I was already establishing in a daydream my very own company that will work alongside my dad's, when someone sat on my lap, snapping me out of my reverie.
"Yoongi, you haven't called," Dana said as she placed her hands on my chest, pouting cutely.
I fooled around with this pretty girl during the summer, when she would ask me to come over her house, since her parents were out of town on most occassions. But after seeing she can be very clingy, I had no choice but to avoid her.
"Sorry, honey. I had to help my dad at home," I was running out of excuses.
She let her hand run through my hair, then traced the side of my face with her forefinger.
"Come over tonight? You need to make up for those times you made me wait for you."
"Dana... Sorry. But I told you, don't expect too much from me. You'll just get hurt."
She chuckled and leaned closer, her red-tinted lips on my earlobe, "You're one lucky asshole. If you weren't so nice and amazing in bed, I would have kicked you in the balls just like the other fuckers."
I pursed my lips as I locked eyes with her.
"Is this the end, then?" she asked, her eyes showing sadness.
"I still want us to be friends. You're a beautiful girl, but there's someone else better for you."
I was being sincere.
"I hope you regret turning me down one day, Min Yoongi."
She gave me a peck on the cheek, then hugged tightly. I knew she had fallen for me, something that I was trying to avoid. I patted her back, hoping to make her feel better, even just a little. As she stood and turned around to leave, I grabbed her hand and kissed it, then looked her in the eyes.
"I had a wonderful time, I mean it, Dana."
I wished I could reciprocate the love these girls give me. But I can't commit myself. I can't. I'm sorry.
She smiled at me and said, "Me too. Thank you. No hard feelings, as promised. But I still might slap you in the face someday for rejecting me."
I chuckled. "I deserve that. Take care, honey."
"You know where to find me when you need me." With that, she winked, let go of my hand and walked away.
I let my forehead hit the desk a bit harder. A malicious snicker caused me to turn my attention to it. Jin was smirking at me.
My dear friends have always been amazed at how smoothly I crawl out of the ladies' clutches. To be honest, I never want to hurt anyone. The whole dating thing is not enjoyable for me. But if I don't make a girl cry every now and then, they won't stop worrying, ending up thinking I'm falling into the devil's pit again.
It wasn't that I did not enjoy getting laid. Last time I checked, I'm still human with manly urges. But to love again, my heart is still weak and skeptical.
"I'm not sure if I am happy about this. Seriously. You need a proper relationship, a girlfriend who can take care of you, and you apparently pushed her away just seconds ago." Seokjin, or Jin, gave me a reproachful look.
"You guys planning to abandon me? Who needs a girlfriend when I have six imbeciles treating me like a baby, much worse than my own mother-"
"That's not what I mean," he cut me off while shaking his head.
I waved my hand at him disapprovingly. "Just keep in mind sex is a human necessity. Google it if you want. Or you're just envious because you hadn't had some since no one knows when-"
He threw a crumpled paper at me, hitting me on the head.
"You ass! But come on, really, why don't you give it a chance. What if Dana can finally make you happy? She is the nicest out of all the girls you slept with. Not to mention you were with her almost everyday last summer."
"It's complicated, Jin. I told you a hundred times."
He let out an exasperated sigh. He's forever concerned about my affairs of the heart. I can't blame him though.
The last time I did fell in love, it had a tragic ending.
Jin was my "babysitter" most of the time, since we attend same classes. During breaks, it would be Jimin or Hoseok taking the duty, while the rest find time to sneak out of their classes just to check up on me. It's really silly, but somehow relieving. I guess I still needed them to keep me sane.
They have been keeping track of my activities, memorizing my schedules, even stalking me in the restrooms, not leaving me alone. If I don't constantly check my house for any hidden cameras, I am damn sure they would have planted some just to keep an eye on me. They should consider being private investigators someday.
As they always say, "We are simply concerned. We don't want you to harm yourself again."
"Look Yoongi. You're the only one claiming it to be complicated, but there's nothing complicated about it, because you wanted it to be complicated that's why it is becoming complicated."
"This conversation is giving me a headache. Can we drop this? You're not making any sense." I rubbed my temples in annoyance.
"Good morning class, we will start right away with answering your homework..."
Finally our teacher arrived, keeping Jin from harrassing me even more.
I needed the day to end. I wanted to sleep.
