3rd Person POV

He stepped onto the front lawn of his mansion, after long hours of travel and agonizing explanations to the heads of the Nine Families how this came to happen, not to mention the damage control measures from the media and of course the FBI, aside from the mega deals lost and mistrust of prospective clients. Now, every single meeting will need more men, more cautious inspection and seclusion of the facilities, meaning more money spent instead of saved. Thank goodness, no one got hurt. Thank goodness his old man cannot witness this, because if he was still alive and this accident happened, Old Man Hunter would have banished him. It was a very long day.

He didn't care whether Theo escaped or died. He's responsible for this failure, all because his dear little brother chose to deviate from the important things in life and chase after a girl he was supposed to have forgotten years ago. The dangerous obsession runs in the blood after all. All the male Hunters did.

The child they bred to be obedient, to feel nothing, has learned to defy them. That day he dreaded has come, when Theo breaks free from his chains, when it's his brain that commands him. Hurst knew he will wreak havoc, and there's only one way to stop him...

And where the hell was Butternut? Wasn't it part of his job to make sure the goods were transported safe and fast when such complications arise? He's been slipping these days, always missing in action, phone calls and messages unanswered.

Shrugging his concerns aside, he expected to see his homemaker in their living room awaiting for his return from his "business appointments", dressed in her favorite silk nightgown. Inside the pocket of his jacket was a box filled with diamonds for a bracelet she requested and have been wanting to be made by her jeweler a month ago. She loved jewelry.

He loved her with all his heart. He was more than ready to give up this dirty business and live a simple and normal life with her, far away from everything.

But could she still bear with him, once all the money, the gifts and all the beautiful things were gone? He spoiled her, only allowing her to take charge in the kitchen, but other than that she was not to hold a mop or a duster or touch soiled linens nor change pillowcases.

He spoiled her too much, with money smeared with innocent people's lives. But he didn't care. Money is money.

Hurst Mobius Hunter entered his dimly lit living room only to find it barren and gloomy, almost suffocating. Something wasn't right.

He rushed to the staircase, skipping three steps at a time, the rampaging heartbeat reached his throat, almost choking him. As soon as he was in front of the bedroom door, he kicked it open, and soon found the source of the eerie atmosphere.

Lily Hunter lay on the floor, cold and motionless.

She downed all her sleeping pills with one of her husband's finest liquors.

A letter lay beside the empty bottle.

-Your brother came today. He told me everything. Now I understand why you took me away, so I will never know the truth. How could you do this to Emily? She loved you like her real father? Hell is a better place for me than here and breathe the same air you do. I will hate you until hell itself consumes me. I hate you, Hurst-

After receiving a call from an unkown phone number, he requested for an early break from his post and ran as fast as he could to the location given to him. He knew the voice of the caller by heart.

He didn't hesitate to rush towards the young man standing beside a phone booth, clearly waiting for him. From the stance and the aura surrounding the guy, even with his eyes closed he could tell who he was. He raised him, afterall.
