Mia playing volleyball for Physical Ed must be the most hilarious thing I have ever witnesses my entire life. Her awkward posture, her inattentiveness, and her eyes completely unfocused causing her mouth to automatically hang open was surely distressing me, but she's so adorable despite her being lost in her own world. I can't help but smile when I see her like that.
I sat at the bleachers, enjoying the benefits of being a higly intelligent student and finishing the exams early, so I spent this free time to check out her activities, more like stalk her. So far, I have memorized her daily schedule.
Jungkook was busy with the basketball team. I could almost taste their first victory under his leadership. He patiently trained alongside his members on the other side of the gym. When he spotted me in the crowd, he motioned for me to sit right next to their area, but I refused and pointed at Mia. He clearly got the message and simply gave me a malicious smirk. I do miss playing basketball, but what I was witnessing at the moment was even more interesting.
The ball was served by the other team, aiming directly at Mia. She was distracted, she did not notice how dumb she looked until the ball bounced hard on the top of her head, causing her eyes to open wide. Since the ball was still in play, her teammates hit it back to the opposing team and the game continued on, not minding Mia at all. I guess they got used to her being in that state that they just ignore and kept on playing.
I must have been laughing so loudly that I felt my skin crawl suddenly, and I knew exactly why. The entire room fell silent as the students started to stare at me. Mia was shooting death glares and probably plotting ways to kill me after their match. I scratched my nape and lowered my head due to embarrassment.
Next thing I know, a white blur came zooming at lightning speed and hitting me right on the forehead, causing me to fall off the seat and land hard on the floor. My head swirled and my vision blurred. When I regained focus, the girl I was mocking stood right in front of me, poker faced. She didn't help me up. Instead, she stuck her tongue out and said, "Try laughing at me again and I'll make sure you won't regain consciousness for the next five days."
I sat up to clear my head when I heard her shout at someone, "Out of my way, Captain."
Jungkook stood there, shocked and speechless while making way for Mia to pass by, then he turned his attention to me, his face blank, then nodded.
"I like her already. Feisty and strong."
"Shut up, Captain," I mumbled in a mocked tone.
Jungkook snickered as he helped me up, picked up my bag and handed it to me. He made me turn around to see if I had injuries. When none was found, he clapped like an obedient seal, which triggered me to punch him in the gut playfully.
"You should have just sat with us. You're destroying your reputation as a cool guy. You're an embarrassment, honestly."
I couldn't help but laugh with him. But I didn't care about reputation anymore. Seeing Mia and knowing she's okay was my top priority.
"Why does she hate you so much? I thought you're friends already?" the curious little one asked.
"Oh, you know, it's a love-hate relationship with her. One day she likes me, the next day she despises me."
We both walked out of the gym to head to our respective classes. But before parting, he hit my arm playfully, then walking backwards to the opposite direction.
"You should think about your life, Yoongi. One swing of a baseball bat and she could break you in half, the girl may look fragile but damn, she'e even stronger than an angry bull. Do yourself a favor and start getting on her good side. Trust me."
He winked at me before turning around sprinting towards the shower room.

Mr. Yan asked me to deliver these stacks of test papers to the office upstairs. I was about to ascend the stairs when I saw Mia at the top, looking blank and confused, until she was panic-stricken and hurriedly rushed down the steps.
I laid the papers on the floor fast to catch her before she falls.
She shook violently in my arms, clinging onto me as if hanging on for dear life. Clearly something startled or scared her, or what I feared the most, someone threatened or tried to attack her.
"Mia, it's okay. You're safe with me."
She was so frightened that she couldn't speak. I let her cry in my arms and repeatedly telling her she's safe. I cupped her face to make her look at me.
"Hey, Mia. It's okay. Don't be scared. Can you tell me what happened?"
She shook her head, her hands clutching tightly at my uniform. "I don't want to go back up there. Don't leave me alone, please."
"Okay. Okay, calm down. I won't leave you."
