"Can I ask you something, Yoongi? Swear that you will only tell the truth..."

I must have pressed the ball point too hard on the paper, making a small hole through the white sheet. Not looking up from my scribbling, I managed to murmur "What, Mia..." that sounded all nasal and inaudible.

I offered to drive her home after an early dismissal to do our homework together for a change of environment. I was pretty bored in my own house, and I haven't seen my precious cat son for ages, so Mia agreed, though reluctantly.

"Can you honestly tell me that you are not involved in a certain conspiracy?"

I sheepishly grinned. "What sort of conspiracy?"

"Cara was complaining to me this morning as soon as I set foot in Geometry class. She said that the two boys in our group don't want to participate on our project anymore because a certain someone threatened them that if they get too close to me, they will be pulverized," the gray pupils that held me captive started constricting as she scrutinized me.

Still trying hard not to meet her gaze but failing miserably, I replied cooly, "I wonder who's that 'someone' you're referring to, he must be really protective..."

I thought I saw a flicker of red in her eyes as she glared at me. I put down my pen and met her suspicious stare.

"I'm positively involved in the conspiracy of silence, Mia," I gave her my most innocent smile.

Her eyes narrowed with a hint of displeasure. "Yoongi..."

"What? Well, they were breathing on you! Not to mention the others who secretly stalk you in between classes. Seriously, Mia, you shouldn't let them near you, especially those from higher years... They're very- ugh, dangerous."

"And you're supposed to be an exception?" She rebuked.

"I'm your boyfriend."

"No, you're not, Yoongi. And stop threatening them. You realize that chasing away my groupmates would mean more time and effort wasted for Cara and I?"

"I'll happily do all your school work for you," I offered.

She sighed, annoyed at my persistence. "That's beside the point..."

"Okay, I'm sorry. I thought they were going to ask you to the Christmas Ball, so-"

She looked at me incredulously, "That's very infantile."

I crossed my arms over my chest and huffed. Fat Migi jumped on my shoulder and began tapping his cotton ball paw on my temple. I can't decide whether he was comforting me or scolding me for giving an attitude.

"Oooooh, I know now! That's why you've been inhibiting every male in the school population to get near me! The jealousy is becoming overbearing, don't you think?"

I shot my hands up in the air, surrendering. "Fine, I'm not letting anyone ask you to that ball. And yes, I'm jealous. Happy?"

"Why are you even like this?"

I collected the plump cat from my shoulder and placed him on the table to scratch his little fat cheek. "I know you won't agree to go with me, so might as well drag them down to suffer with me. It's better to see you without a date if you won't let ME be with you..."

"Well, you didn't ask."

"I'll pick you up at eigth, then." I happily put away my work to focus on her, propping my face on my hand and keeping a smug look.

She breathed out loud, clearly exasperated. "You're not asking. And you sound rude."

"You know what, it's pointless to argue. I'll take you there, anyways, whether you agree or not," I said.
