"You saw Mr. Hunter in town? Where, exactly?" Jin asked in a hushed tone, careful not to attract attention.

"At the precinct, when Jungkook was brought in for questioning."

"Did he talk to you?"

"I think he saw me, but he purposefully ignored me. Still holding a grudge against me, I guess. So what is it you wanted to tell me?"

He dragged his chair closer and checked the area for anyone that might eavesdrop. Once satisfied that we're out of earshot, he started, "That's what I was going to tell you, I was at the fish port, checking if our orders for tuna arrived earlier-"

"The restaurant doing good lately?" I interrupted unintentionally, I was just very happy and excited to hear about his family's newly opened restaurant.

He smiled broadly, "Yes, it's been packed with customers eversince it opened last month. That's why I have to make sure everything is perfect."

"Of course it will, I might bring Mia there one day."

"Are you dating now, is it serious-"

I laughed and cut him off again, playfully this time. I wasn't about to let him gossip, not just yet. "Wait, what were you saying about Mr. Hunter?"

He swung his arm to hit me on the chest, then did his iconic wagging pointing finger thing, "You can't hide details from me forever, you sneaky loverboy. Or let me guess, you're still the chicken you are and you haven't had progress yet."

"Shut up, Jin."

He guffawed, "Anyway, I saw your ex-father-in-law at the fish port, but fish isn't really what he's there for. I didn't mean to pry, but I they're smuggling something, drugs I guess. One worker accidentally dropped the container filled with ice, and Mr. Hunter hit him with the crowbar in his hands, almost killing the guy. And no one dared intervene."

"Maybe you shouldn't be there, Jin. If there's illegal activities there, better let your supplier come to you. They're doing it in the open?"

"Yeah, that's the thing. No one's interfering... How influencial is your ex-father-in-law?"

Honestly, I don't know anything about Emily's dad, although I know her mom owns a textile business, which is pretty huge, exporting to multiple countries around the world. "I only know of Mrs. Hunter's business. Her dad hates me from the very beginning, so I didn't have the chance to get to know him."

"Well, if I did have a daughter, I'd probably feel the same way, hating every guy that comes near her," he nodded thoughtfully.

He kept bugging me about my date with Mia, that Jungkook must have told everyone that we were together when we came to the police station. One day I'll sew their mouths shut. But before I could start, Mia arrived to save the day. I pushed Jin back to his desk to make room for the beautiful girl.

She looked anxious, clutching her bag tightly and securely,  as if her life depends on it. She broke into a sprint after passing through our homeroom teacher and rushed to take a seat beside me, settling her bag on her lap. Sweat dampened her forehead, and she wiped it with the sleeve of her uniform. Jin also noticed her discomfort, so he edged nearer towards us.

"Are you okay? Did something happen?" I asked as I scanned her entire body for anything out of the ordinary.

"Well, my old lady neighbor watches over Migi while I'm at school, but she had to go to her doctor today,"

Jin and I glanced at each other, perplexed at her vague answer.

"And?"

Instead of a verbal reply, she unzipped her bag, and as soon as she did a chubby furry face popped out, its pink nose sniffing for some air.

"Migi?!" I almost shouted, causing Mia to put her hand on my mouth.

"Well, I couldn't leave him alone at home, and Dad's at work so I brought him along..."

"But he'll just be asleep until you get home, he might not even notice your absence," Jin stated the obvious.

Mia looked at the cat with worry, "I know, but he's such a baby, and he's clingy these days, so I don't want him to be scared. I've seen videos of cats left at home and they cry endlessly. I just can't..."

Ms. Keen cleared her throat, signaling that lessons were about to start, so I took Migi from Mia to settle him on the ground, but he let out a very audible meow.

Everybody turned to my direction where the sound came from. I pushed Migi back into the bag and zipped it rapidly, but I guess I had no other choice, since all eyes were on me.

"Uh, meow?"

The whole class roared with laughter.

"Have you transformed yourself into a cat, Mr. Min?" Ms. Keen asked, clearly annoyed.

"Uhm, I'm sorry Ms. Keen, I was just practicing, ladies love it when I meow," then, facing Mia, I curled my fist and placed it under my chin, then batting my eyes, "Meeeow..."

The deafening laughter even went louder.

"Class, be quiet! You can do that during your free time, so I suggest you switch back to your human form and let's start our day, shall we?"

I glared at Mia, who was enjoying so much and laughing her butt off.

If only I didn't love you, I won't let myself get into anymore humiliation. Unbelievable, this girl, the things I do for you...

I snickered in defeat, smiling idiotically along with her.
