Day 1: We Waste No Time

The three of us - Abbie, Colt, and I - all jump when the fourth cannon goes off. It seemed very loud from here, compared to the cornucopia.

We had all split at that horn. The lesbians and Roux decided to stay and guard the horn, while us three wasted no time and went for La Espada De Furia. Abbie had came along because of Colt, and I wasn't gonna just let Colt get it so easily. The video may have been fake, but the tensions it showed was very much alive.

"I think that's it." Colt says, as we pop out of the tree line. We were on a winding dirt path, and there were footprints on it. "Oh shit, we've been beat."

"Then let's terminate them." Abbie says. "It's one set of footprints. We can take them."

"Yeah." I say. "Let's go."

We walk up the path towards the now visible temple. It was a mix of both stone, iron, gold, and other shiny things. It looked massive and sturdy, with four outer towers and one massive central building which looked like a pyramid. On the top was a spire with a cannon - the cannon.

"That's why it was louder." I say, pointing to it. The others notice, and nod.

We continue to walk towards it, seeing the footprints continue in dirt on concrete to the entrance. There was a sign posted, with a singular, massive door. The sign read: 'To begin The Trial, enter the door and it will begin.'

"So." I say. "Whose going?"

"Not even a question." Colt says, walking up towards the door.

"Then I'll, go." Abbie says. Well, great. Now I have to go to, I wouldn't get outdone by that little squirt.

"Eh, fuck it." I say, walking with them. We slowly enter the door, seeing a lobby of sorts inside. The door closes behind us, and I hear a pressurized lock. We were trapped.

We walk through the second door with much more apprehension. It entered into a second room, which was much more massive and held nothing but complete darkness.

"Are you prepared?" I hear from the darkness, and a light turns on. It shines on a dead body, which was torn to pieces. It was the body of Louis Dexter, torn to shreds in a pool of blood.

"Yup." Colt says, almost fearlessly. That was surprising from him. Even I was a bit worried.

"So Be It." The voice says, and at the other side of the room, a opening in the wall lights up. Inside was the sword, and lights turn on inside. It was dark still, but bright enough to see the hulking monster standing in front of us.

It was massive, and likely a Capitol Mutt. Abbie looks up, terrified, and Colt only now looks worried. It looked to be built of scaly rock, and had glowing eyeballs. It was huge and intimidating.
