I watch as the others pull their weapons and get ready to fight this abomination. It was even more scary close up. The room was full of giant rocks, and the monster picks up two of them. "I guard the sword." It says slowly and deeply. "You will never make it."
"We'll see." I say, confident with myself and our plan, but not Abbie. I almost felt like I was obligated to protect her. Not like she was weak or dependent, but because she shouldn't have been here yet. She still had six more years before volunteering.
Nich releases his war cry, and the battle begins. He had his sword, I had my Dual Bladed Sword, and Abbie had her Expanding Sword. Abbie runs first, looking like she had something to prove. They had designated me as the one to wield La Espada De Furia. That made my job of being the leader here that much easier. Not to mention I wasn't comfortable with Nich or Isla having it, as they wanted me dead.
Abbie retracts her blade as she slides under the arm of the beast, at least double her size with that arm alone. She expands her blade once she gets on the other side, slicing and splitting a scale.
Nich goes in to distract while both Abbie attacks and I dash for the weapon. The beast swings it's arm at me, and I hold my blade up to block. It still knocks me back ten feet, and leaves marks on the blade.
The beast throws Nich off of him, and he lands on the ground with a thud. It had given him a nosebleed, but luckily it hadn't hit his head hard. I lean down and grab my sword, knowing if only one person went against it, the beast would tear them apart.
I run up and slam my sword into its chest, which make me jump to reach. The beast screams in annoyance, and reaches for it with his arm. I look up to see a sinister smile from it, and so I detach my sword into two. I fall off with the second half of my weapon, while the beast rips the first half out. It hadn't even damaged it.
I duck and run behind it, before I feel a hulking weight hit my back and I go flying across the room. I land about 20 feet back, watching it stand there with Abbie getting held in the air and Nich flung into a wall. I look in despair until I notice the light behind me. I look back, and see that the beast had knocked me only a feet feet from the sword.
I stood up, some blood dripping from my mouth. The sword was radiating with light, shiny and imposing. It was made of a leather stitched handle with a hand guard on one side, with large and tilted rain guards. They each had a heat vent on it. Two main pillars of steel rose from the top, each sharp but with one larger than the other. In the center was an empty space. Next to the sword was a glove, which I quickly put on.
I grasp for the sword, pulling it out of the Hold and immediately feeling the heat on my hand. With the amount of space on this sword, there was a lot of machinery in the handle. I guess this glove was heat resistant. I gaze at the sword, with its intricate markings and stylish vents.
I turn back around, screaming "HEY!" At the monster. It pauses, about to attack Abbie. I pull the sword out, and the monster's sinister grin turns into a look of surprise and anger. I push the switch on the sword's switch, and the hollow area turns bright orange - red. I feel the immense heat radiate from it almost instantly.
Nich looks in amazement, and fear. The beast grabs a giant rock from the room and hurls it at me. I switch the sword to high power mode, and I could see both heat distortion in the air and steam escape from the venting. I swipe at the rock, and it splits right into two. The pieces hit fall onto the ground behind me, with some parts turning into liquid magma. Oh, this beast was fucked.
I charge it, and use the other function - the heat wave. It shoots from the blade, and it had enough power to knock the beast back a foot. It was hitting me right now: this thing just knocked back a giant mutant and split a rock that weighed a ton.
Holy shit.
I leap up while the beast is in its daze, and push the sword through its neck. It glides through with ease, and surprisingly didn't bleed as much. Probably because the heat of the weapon was cauterizing the blood near immediately. It goes limp, starting to fall over, and I rip the weapon out before jumping off.
"Damn." Abbie mutters, holding a cut she gained, while the beast fell to the ground. I finish cutting its head off, before grabbing my old dual blade and reattaching it. I was still holding the flame sword.
"Let's go." I say, and Nich nods. He tears a piece of his shirt off to cover a wound, and we all walk to the door. I stick the sword through the locks, and they melt. The door opens, and we walk outside. They sit while I stick my dual blade into the ground and place the beast's head on top.
The trial was complete.

"I told you this was gonna be good." I say to Morgan and Verí. We had made it to the Research Station, and while Morgan and I were good with it, Verí wasn't so on board.
"Yeah, it's ok." He says, looking around. "I just think it could be better."
"Oh!" Morgan exclaims from another room. "I found fruit!"
"Bet." Verí says, switching his mind and walking to Morgan. It was annoying how he'd do that.
As I follow him, my mind drifts to my grandmother. She was probably watching me right now, staying up late at night. She probably felt like she needed to watch over me so I didn't die. No, I knew that she felt that way. It broke my heart.
"Oh, it's a lemon." Verí says excitedly as I catch up. "Many lemons."
We really didn't have too much in supplies from the horn, but we'd got some good stuff here. More food and water was nice, and finding my Electric Crossbow stashed in a chest didn't hurt one bit. Verí and Morgan were rocking Knives from the bags.

I stumble upon the campsite, after getting lost on my map. To my dismay, there were a lot of signs that someone had already made it here. Footprints, all of the tents being open, and a ball of twine on the ground were multiple solid hints. Not to mention that there were two bags here, each with there canteens and one with a map.
All I had was a supply bag, and quite frankly, taking whoever's bags these were would be perfect. Raiding the whole site would be an outstanding move, but I didn't really know who had settled here and how long they were gone for.
Then again, I could trap them... it'd be risky, but depending on who it was I could either off them or even make an ally.. or allies. That would be really evil, but it may just work.
- SOLO INTERACTIVE QUESTION: Mossleap What does Clyde do?
a. Raid the campsite as fast as he can and get out (about 30 minutes)
b. Take only the bags and easily accessible things (about 5 minutes)
c. Use his trapping and stealth skills to ambush the tribute(s) on their way back
d. Custom Plan.
Sorry about the shorter pov's on Leo and Clyde, it's just that the trial took a lot of words and I wanted to detail it. Next chapter will have some POV's on the District 11's, Elisa, Islow, And Sephora. Maybe even Luke.
