"Do you remember having any cameras set up around the house?" The detective who was dressed down in a white button up shirt, black dress pants, and black dress shoes asked. They really got to work on this case and now I'm standing in front of the house were it all went down. So many people were asking me so many different questions while others were checking every corner of the scene. I twisted my lips to the side and thought about it for a minute. My mother didn't really keep cameras around her house. But she did keep a baby monitor because she baby-sat a lot.
"I don't remember us having any cameras but I'm sure she had a baby monitor somewhere." I shrugged. The detective ran his fingers through his curly hair and sighed. He took the pen from behind his ear and started scribbling things down on a notepad.
"Do you know anyone who would've wanted her dead?" He stuck the pen in his mouth as he stared me in the eye with an eyebrow raised. I shook my head and looked around at the neighbors houses. My mother never did anything to anyone. She kept her own space and only gave out the littlest bit of information. She didn't like people in her business period.
"Was she expecting any visitors?"
"No sir, not that I know of." I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear as he stared back and nodded.
"You mind if we speak to your boyfriend?"

Ja'QuanI was currently sitting outside of Chick-fil-A with my boy Trey. I was smashing on a chicken sandwich and they waffle fries. I felt my thigh vibrate and I knew someone was calling me. I cursed under my breath and pulled it out.
"I done got some ketchup on my Gucci shirt." Trey said while licking off the sauce with his tongue. He was wearing his white Gucci shirt, black distressed true religion jeans, and his white Gucci slides that he wore with white socks.
"Cause you eating too damn fast." I looked down at the caller ID which read "❤️Mya💍."
"Wassup bae?" I was trying to focus on what she was saying but she had on lip gloss which made her lips look edible. I licked my lips before actually listening.
"Come again."
"You wasn't even listening." She mugged me.
"I was looking at yo lips ma." I smirked. She just rolled her eyes. One day her eyes gon' roll to the back of her head. Just wait and see.
"I need you to meet me somewhere. I'll text you the address so you can answer some of the detective's questions." I nodded already knowing it had something to do with the death of her mother.
"I'mma be there in a sec bae." I said before she hung up.
"I'mma be there in a sec bae." A high pitched voice squeaked. I turned towards Trey and mugged him.
"You just mad you won't be getting any coo-"
"You already know I'm not a virgin dumb nut." He cut me off before I could finish.
"Don't interrupt me."
"I just did." I leaned back in my seat before opening up a pack of ketchup and wiping some on his shirt.
"Nigga." He tried not to get angry but I could tell by his face that he was pissed.
"Now you buying me a new shirt." He said before getting out the car and throwing his bag away.
"You got that, you ain't broke!" I yelled. My phone vibrated again and I looked at it to see and address. I hooked it up to the GPS and stared at it for a moment. Why it look so familiar?
