Andys POV:

Jack hasn't been talking to me and I don't blame him. We've kept it within the station so the news doesn't get out to my dad.

I was at the station cleaning when I saw Jack come in and go into the Captains office.

Sullivan's POV:

I was sitting at my desk when Jack came in.

Sullivan: can I help you?
Jack: I need advice.
Sullivan: okay?
Jack: I'm going to try and get custody of Jaclyn. I don't even know where to start.
Sullivan: I would talk to a custody lawyer. See what they say and go from there.
Jack: okay
Sullivan: hey.
Jack: what?
Sullivan: proud of you.
Jack: thanks captain

He walked back out and went back to work.

Jacks POV:

I called a lawyer who would take my case. I put the deposit down and meet with them after work.

After work I headed over to the lawyers office and talked with them. He said once we file the paper work tomorrow he doesn't see why I wouldn't get custody right away. Jaclyn and I already did a paternity test for our peace of minds so the results are being sent in with the paper work.

It's been a few days now since the lawyer sent in the paperwork. I went to work like normal and was walking in when my phone went off. It was Jaclyn. She's never called me before. Sullivan was walking out of his office.

Jack: can I use your office for a second?
Sullivan: why?
Jack: someone is calling me

I showed him my lock screen and he nodded yeah.

Jack: hi
Jaclyn: (crying)
Jack: woah. What's wrong?
Jaclyn: (incoherent crying)
Jack: hey. You gotta take a breathe for me and tell me what's going on.

I opened the door and motioned for Sullivan to come in.

Sullivan: what?
Jack: I can't understand her.

I put her on speaker phone.

Jack: jaclyn
Jaclyn: yes
Jack: what happened sweet heart?
Jaclyn: (crying) They got mad at me for (gasping while crying)
Jack: your foster parents
Jaclyn: yeah. They got mad at me for doing homework
Jack: okay. What happened?
Jaclyn: (sobbing) he beat me. He threw me against the wall and it hurts to breathe bad.

Sullivan: (whispering) tell her to call 911
Jack: jaclyn. You need to call 911. The cops can come and get them then the medics can help you.
Jaclyn: no. I can't do that. That'll make it worse.

Sullivan: (whispering) we go get her then
Jack: are they home?
Jaclyn: no. They went to the liquor store.
Jack: okay. I'm gonna come get you and take a look okay?
Jaclyn: okay.
Jack: stay on the phone with me till I get there.

Sullivan grabbed his car keys and grabbed a med bag. We both ran out the front door and jumped in his car. Everyone was confused and he yelled at Pruitt to take over.

Jack: are you still there?
Jaclyn: (gasping) yeah
Jack: I'm two minutes away. Okay?
Jaclyn: okay.

We turned the corner and I hung up. I jumped out of the car and went running over to her. She slowly walked over crying. Her right eye was swollen shut, she was walking with a limp, and her side was all bruised.

Jaclyn: who's that?
Jack: that's Robert Sullivan. He's the captain at the station. We all call him Sullivan.
Sullivan: hi
Jaclyn: hi
Jack: he's just here to help. Okay?
Jaclyn: okay.
