Chapter 11

Jaclyn's POV:

Next week is my birthday. No one has said much and I'm not saying anything because I don't want to make a big deal out of it.

Vic's POV:

I was at home sitting on the couch when Lucas came over.

Lucas: whatcha doing?
Vic: planning Jaclyn's surprise birthday party.
Lucas: need any help?
Vic: actually yeah

We sat on the couch and planned her party some until Jack came over. When Jack got here we sat at the table and finished planning stuff. We made a shopping list and made a group chat with everyone.

Jaclyn's POV:

I woke up around 9 to Tico calling me.

Jaclyn: hello?
Tico: (singing) Happy birthday to you
Jaclyn: staaaaap.
Tico: stop being a brat. Happy birthday.
Jaclyn: thank you.
Tico: get up and get dressed. I'll be over in about an hour to pick you up.
Jaclyn: what why?
Tico: we have a pop up practice at 1 so we are gonna go get food and coffee before hand.
Jaclyn: fiiiiine.
Tico: get up ya lazy ass
Jaclyn: fine dickhead.
Tico: love you
Jaclyn: love you too

I hung up and turned some music on. I threw on a pair of skinny jeans, a flowy top, and some knee high boots. I went into the bathroom and did my hair then put some make up on. About 20 minutes later Tico came in.

Tico: gosh so slow.
Jaclyn: uhm you called me 15 minutes ago. I still have 25 minutes.
Tico: fiiine

He went into my room and laid on my bed and played on his phone. I finished getting ready. I slid my laptop into my bag and grabbed my water bottle.

Jaclyn: damn. You take so long.
Tico: I know. Takes so much to look this good.
Jaclyn: well shit. Let's go asshole.
Tico: ouch. That hurt.
Jaclyn: sorry. Did I hurt your one feeling?
Tico: yeah. It's sensitive.

We both laughed and left.

Around 2 we quit practicing for the day and just hung out.

4 pm

Tico and I headed home. We stopped and got s drink on the way. Tico pulled up and we got out. I went and checked the mail before going inside. I was walking in and going through the mail.

Jaclyn: Tico. Our thing from Jana is
Everyone: surprise!!

I jumped back and hit Tico. Tico smiled and rubbed my shoulders. I turned around and put my head in the crock of his neck.

Jaclyn: oh my god.
Tico: happy birthday.

I pulled back and wiped my eyes.

Jaclyn: (hits Ticos chest) you asshole. You didn't tell me.
Tico: I was threatened.

I turned around and saw dad, Maya, Vic, Lucas, Dean, Ben, Travis, Miranda, and grandpa. I walked over and sat the mail down. Dad came over and wrapped me in a hug.

Jack: happy birthday sweet girl.

He kissed my head and hugged me. I let go of him I went over and hugged grandpa. I looked over his shoulder and saw Vic smiling. I let go of him and ran over to Vic. I body slammed her into a hug. She laughed and hugged me.

Jaclyn: thank you
Vic: why are you thanking me?
Jaclyn: I know dad didn't do all this. I know you did most of this.
Vic: I just told them what to do.
Jaclyn: thank you. I couldn't ask for a better momma.
Vic: anytime. I couldn't ask for a better kid.

(Unwritten part. Jaclyn spends a lot of time with Vic and sees her like her mom. Lucas and Vic are her legal god parents. Jack put them down because they were the first ones to know about Jack getting Jaclyn.)

I leaned back and laid my head on her shoulder. Lucas rubbed my shoulder and kissed my head. We all hung for awhile and then decided to do cake. Vic pulled the cake out of the fridge.

Everyone: (starts singing happy birthday)

I smiled and blew out the candles. I was looking at everyone. They were all smiling, clapping, and laughing. I quickly wiped a tear from my eyes.

Lucas: what's wrong?
Jaclyn: I've never had a birthday. Bad stuff happens on my birthday. I've just never celebrated it.

He rubbed my shoulder and kissed my head.

Lucas: well that's gonna change.

Everyone walked around the corner.

Jaclyn: what are you doing?
Miranda: group hug.

They all walked over and hugged me. Vic wrapped her arms around me and everyone wrapped around us. Thats when I lost it. I just held onto momma and cried. Everyone just stood there and hugged me.

A few minutes later everyone let go. Momma wiped my eyes.

Vic: time to do cake. Come on.

I wiped my eye and sat down on a bar stool dad pulled out. He stood behind me and laid his hands on my shoulder and rubbed them. Everyone sang happy birthday and we cut cake.

A few hours later

Everyone left but mom, dad, Lucas, and Tico. I was laying down on the couch when Lucas came over.

Jaclyn: wanna lay with me?
Lucas: sure

He laid down next to me and I laid my head on his shoulder and fell asleep.

Vic's POV:

After we finished cleaning up I went to find Lucas and saw him on the couch asleep with Jaclyn. Tico was asleep in the recliner, Dean was asleep in the other recliner, and Jack was taking trash out. I took a picture of Lucas and Jaclyn sleeping then one of everyone. I rubbed his arm and woke him up.

Vic: ready to go?
Lucas: in a minute.

He sleepily rolled over and pulled Jaclyn closer to him. I smiled and let them sleep.

A few hours later

Jaclyn's POV:

Everyone was fine by now. Dad was taking a shower. Dean was doing laundry and Tico and I were watching TV in my room.

Tico: did you have a good day?
Jaclyn: yes. Thanks for keeping it a secret.
Tico: I'm just glad you finally got a good birthday.
Jaclyn: me too.
