Chapter 64

Jaclyn's POV:

Tyler and I woke up around 8. We went to the gym and got a work out in then grabbed something to eat before going to the house. We were grabbing a smoothie at a smoothie bar next to the place where we were getting lunch. We were standing around for a bit waiting for our food when I saw dad (Jack) grab something from the counter. He looked over and we made eye contact then he paid.

Jaclyn: (Mumbles to Tyler) Go figure he'd be here.
Tyler: Be nice.

I had my arm wrapped around Tyler and was taking a drink of my smoothie when he walked over.

Jack: Hey.
Jaclyn: Hey.
Tyler: Hey.
Jack: Could I talk to you for a minute?
Jaclyn: Yeah.

I let go of Tyler and patted his back. He took my purse and held it while I talked with dad outside. I stepped outside and put my sunglasses on. I walked down the patio stairs and leaned against Tyler's truck.

Jaclyn: Whatcha wanna talk about?
Jack: The other night.
Jaclyn: What about it?
Jack: Just like everything. How you feel about it...
Jaclyn: Well in all honesty it is weird. Jo is my best friend. She's my only friend here outside of the station. It's just weird. Like our dynamic is going to change.
Jack: But I don't want that to happen.
Jaclyn: Our relationship isn't going to change. You are my dad through and through. She is going to go from my best friend to more of a mom role
Jack: But
Jaclyn: Dad that's the reality of it. If y'all ever got married she would be my step mom. Like that's weird. I'm not mad y'all are dating. I'm beyond happy you have found someone because you truly do deserve happiness and to have someone. You do. A part of me feels like I denied you of that when you were with Maya but you whole heartedly deserve it. Sometimes you don't think you do but you do. Everyone deserves to find their true love. If she is that for you then I am happy for you. I will figure it out with Jo.
Jack: You did not deny me of that. You saw something in her that I was blind to. I just...
Jaclyn: It will be okay dad. Jo and I will figure out our like relationship change. It will take time but it will be okay.

That's when I saw Tyler walk out with our food.

Jack: Okay. Well I'd like if you two would come over for dinner one night. I feel like I haven't seen you guys in forever.
Jaclyn: Well we are leaving this afternoon for a few days. We will come over when we get back.
Jack: Okay. Love you.
Jaclyn: Love you too.

I gave him a hug and he left. Tyler walked over and unlocked the truck.

Tyler: Were you nice?
Jaclyn: Yes.

I laughed and got in the truck. We went back to the house and showered before getting ready to head to the hotel. Around 2 Tico came and picked us up. When we got to the airport we unloaded all the luggage and went through security. Once we got through everything we found our gate and got seats near it. Around 4:30 Tyler went and grabbed us something to eat before we got on the plane.

When we got on the plane we got to our seats. I sat down while Tyler our our bags up. Once everyone was settled we started to take off. The attendants started to go over procedures and said where we were going. I looked over at Tyler complete shocked.

Jaclyn: you did not.
Tyler: yes I did.
Jaclyn: oh my god. You are literally gonna make me cry.
Tyler: I knew you had to cancel the trip with your dad because Dixon was being a dick and denied his days off so I figured we could come.

I looked at him and tried to keep from crying.

Tyler: ahh babe.

He lifted his arm up and wrapped it around me. He laid his head against mine and we sat there for awhile.
