Chapter 7

Jaclyn's POV:

Today's my first day with Jana. I got dressed and Jack took me to the arena. He's off work today so he's gonna be here with me today.

When we got to the arena we got unloaded and headed to sound check. We did sound check and then I met with Jana.

Jana: Hey!
Jaclyn: Hi. This is my dad Jack.
Jana: nice to meet you.
Jack: nice to meet you.

We talked for awhile then went backstage to chill out before the show. I introduced Jack to the band officially and we all hung out while waiting for the show.

Around 6:30 I went and got ready to go on. Jack fixed my ear pieces and got them straightened out.

Jack: hey. I'm proud of you.
Jaclyn: thank you.

I gave him a hug and got ready to go out.

When I went running out to start the show I saw the whole station was in the front row. I just looked at Jack and smiled with tears in my eyes. He just looked at me and smiled.

Jaclyn: How y'all doin tonight!?

I started out with Georgia Peaches/Paradise City.
I did a couple songs then sang a couple songs acoustic.

Jaclyn: this next song my lead guitar Tico and I love to play each other. Tico and I were in the same foster home together when I was 7. We had good parents. We were happy. When I turned 9 our foster parents got a divorce. It was heart wrenching for both of us. We both finally had a good home. If any of y'all know anything at all about the foster care system you know it's extremely rare to find a good home. After our foster parents got divorced our lives changed forever. We got yanked from that home and got placed in an extremely abusive home. When the nights were bad Tico and I would sit in my bad and hum songs together. Then we started writing songs. This is the first song we wrote together. It's called 11.

We both looked at each other with tears in our eyes. We both played and somehow managed to get through it without crying. I put my mic on the stand and gave him a hug.

Jaclyn: now let's quit being sad.

Ferrari started up and we got going again. 3 songs later we finished. When I walked off stage I took my ear pieces out and handed my mic to Bill. I saw Jack standing to the side with his arms crossed and smiling. I ran to him and hugged him. He hugged me and picked me up.

Jack: I'm so freaking proud of you.

He kissed my head and squeezed me tight. I pulled back and wiped my eyes. Tico came off and squeezed me in a hug.

Jaclyn: we did it.
Tico: we did it.

I hugged him and started crying.

Tico: we made it out.
Jaclyn: thank you.
Tico: for what?
Jaclyn: everything. Everything you've done for me. Back to the foster homes, keeping my stuff safe when you aged out, helping me with everything. I wouldn't be here without you.
Tico: I would do it all over again. You're my only family.

I just hugged him and cried more.

Tico: I gotta go change. I'm disgusting.
Jaclyn: yeah you are.

We both laughed and he went to the changing room. I turned around and saw everyone from the station.

Jaclyn: thanks y'all for coming tonight.

We all went back to the lounge and hung out for awhile. About an hour later I had to get ready to go do my collab song with Jana. Everyone went back to the row they were in. Jack went out there too. I got dressed and put my ear pieces back on.

When it was time for me to go back out Jana introduced me. We sang I Hope it Rains and Purple Rain together. In Purple Rain I sang this riff and she just looked at me in complete and under shock. Once we were finished she gave me a hug and I walked off stage. I looked back at everyone and Jack was standing with his arm around Maya. I wonder if they are a thing or not.

After the show was done I walked out to where everyone was. Some people had left and went home. It was mostly Jack, Pruitt, Sullivan, Dean, Vic, and Ripley.

Jaclyn: hey y'all.

They all said hey and we stood there and talked for a bit. We all walked out and went to the cars. I put my bag in the car and talked to them for awhile. Sullivan decided to leave. I thanked him for coming and kept talking.

After awhile we all decided to leave. I gave Pruitt a hug.

Jaclyn: thank you so much for coming.
Pruitt: anytime.

I got in the car with Jack and we left. When we got home I took my make up off and got straight into the shower. When I got out I dried my hair and got dressed. I went into the living room and saw everyone.

Jaclyn: what are y'all doing?
Dean: we are celebrating your first head opener.
Jaclyn: guys.

They all smiled. Vic lit some candles on the cake and rubbed my shoulders.

Vic: blow it out.

I blew out the candles and everyone clapped and cheered. I smiled and Vic wrapped her arm around me. Ripley started cutting cake and handing it out. We all hung out, ate cake, and talked for awhile. Around 1 am people started to head home.

Jacks POV:

I talked with Maya for awhile while everyone started to leave. After everyone left I cleaned up and put stuff away. Jaclyn came out and grabbed a water bottle.

Jack: hey
Jaclyn: yeah?
Jack: I'm proud of you.
Jaclyn: you've said it like a million times today.
Jack: I know. I'm just so proud. I want you to know if.
Jaclyn: thank you.

I gave her a hug and kissed her head.

Jaclyn: good night.
Jack: good night.

She went to her room and went to bed. I turned all the lights out and went to bed.
