Chapter 15

Vic's POV:

Jaclyn's back at Jacks house. It's been a week since her incident. I go over every day and check on her and stay with her.

After work I went home and showered and headed over to Jacks. When I got there she was laying on the couch. Maya was cooking in the kitchen with Dean and Jack was in the shower.

Dean: hey Vic.
Vic: hey.
Jaclyn: hi momma.
Vic: hey baby. How ya feeling today?
Jaclyn: okay. My stomach still hurts a bit but that's it.
Vic: good.

I sat down next to her and watched TV with her. A few minutes later Jack came out. We were about to eat when Lucas showed up.

Lucas: hey sweets.
Jaclyn: hey.

He gave her a hug and kissed her head. We all sat down and ate dinner. After dinner we were all cleaning up.

Jaclyn: I'm going to go shower.
Vic: okay. Let me come help you.
Jaclyn: I think I'm okay to do it on my own.
Vic: okay. I'll be out here and yell if you need me.
Jaclyn: okay. Will you brush my hair out before I get in there?
Vic: yep.

I got her hair brush and brushed her hair out. I got her settled and in the shower. I stood by the door and listened to her shower.

Lucas: what are you doing?
Vic: making sure she's okay.
Lucas: come sit down. If she needs help she'll yell.
Vic: fine.

We went into the living room and sat down. About 20 minutes later I heard the water shut off. I stopped and listened. I heard her moan in pain. I got up and listened.

Jaclyn: mom!
Vic: I'm coming.

I opened the door and she was leaning against the wall and was wrapped up in a towel.

Vic: what's wrong babe?
Jaclyn: my stomach and lower area hurt really bad.
Vic: okay. Grab my arm. Let's get you out and into your room.
Jaclyn: I can't walk.
Vic: okay. Lucas!!

I heard him walk down the hall and heard him knock on the door.

Vic: she's covered. Come in.
Lucas: what's up?
Vic: she's in some really bad pain
Jaclyn: yeah. It feel like someone ran me over with a truck and stabbed me.
Vic: we need to get her to her room.
Lucas: okay.

I got her to take a couple steps. Lucas picked her up and carried her to her room. He sat her down on her bed.

Lucas: whatcha need babe?
Jaclyn: my medicine. It's in the kitchen. Dad put it on the counter for me.
Lucas: okay. I'll be back.

He left and I got her dressed. I wrapped her hair up in a towel and got her propped up in bed. Lucas came in with a glass of water and her medicine. Jack was standing at the door way.

Vic: whatcha need babe?
Jaclyn: I don't know. It hasn't hurt this bad before.
Vic: okay.

I kissed her head and got her a bit more comfortable. I walked over to Jack and told him to call Ben. Lucas stayed in her room with her. I stood at the door way so I could hear jack calling Ben.

About 30 minutes later Ben and Miranda came walking inside.

Ben: where she at?
Jack: her bedroom.

I stepped back and let them in.

Ben: hey kiddo.
Jaclyn: hey
Ben: so what's up?
Vic: she took a shower by herself today. She got out of the shower and her abdominal and private area was hurting really bad. Lucas gave her the pain meds she has but it hasn't helped. She said it hasn't been this bad before.

They both nodded and Lucas stepped out so that Ben and Miranda could check her out. I stood at the door way and watched.

A few minutes later Lucas came back up next to me and rubbed my shoulder. Jack was standing down the hall from us. A couple minutes later Miranda came out.

Miranda: I think she's starting to move around more than she has. Keep giving her the medicine every 3 hours even if she isn't in pain.
Vic: okay. Thank you for coming out.
Miranda: anytime.

I walked Miranda and Ben out while Lucas stayed with Jaclyn. I came back in and Jack was sitting in the living room with Maya. I rolled my eyes and went into Jaclyn's room.

Vic: hi sweets. Whatcha need baby?
Jaclyn: nothing. I just wanna sleep.
Vic: okay. Let's brush your hair out first.
Jaclyn: fine.

Lucas helped her sit up and get settled. I got her hair brush and spray and brushed out her hair. Once I finished I propped her pillows up and put her hair brush down.

Lucas: it's okay. Slowly lean back. It's okay.

He got her situated and comfortable.

Jaclyn: will you lay with me?
Lucas: of course.

He laid down next to her and stroked her head and moved her hair. I went into the kitchen and got something to drink.

Jack: is she okay?
Vic: yeah.

I grabbed my drink and went into her room. I sat down in her rolling chair and played on my phone while Lucas laid with her.

About 30 minutes later she was asleep so we snuck out and went home. I texted Dean to call me if anything happens with her. I held Lucas's hand on the way home.

Vic: I love you.
Lucas: I love you too.
Vic: no I really do. I love you. I love how caring you are. I love how you roll with the punches in life. I love how accepting you were when I took Jaclyn in. I love how much you care for her.

He stopped in a parking lot and parked the car.

Lucas: Vic. I love you. I love you with my whole heart. I love Jaclyn too. I think I have two hearts because I love her with my whole heart too. She is a piece of me just like you are. I love both of you. Did you know she started calling me dad?
Vic: no! Did she really!?
Lucas: yeah. A few days ago.
Vic: oh my god!

I grabbed his cheeks and kissed him. He leaned back and smiled.

Lucas: let's get home or those clothes aren't going to last long there.
Vic: oh really?
Lucas: oh yeah.

I laughed and we left.
