CHAPTER 1

Stella's POV

The bell rang. Palabas na ako ng school ng makita ko si Julia with Vish habang sakay ng motor nya.

"Uhm Julia, wait." Napalingon silang dalawa sakin.

"What?." She said with a smile. Ang weird talaga because she's smiling now. She looked great doing it tho, anyways. Stella, focus.

"Ah--about our paper, punta ka samin mamayang 6 and please don't be late again this time."

"Okay, I'll be there at 5:59." She said smiling again at umalis na.

And by 5:59, dumating nga sya samin sa eksaktong oras.

"Wow, 5:59 nga haha. So, how are you?."

Umupo sya na bakas sa mukha nya ang pagtataka.

"I thought we're working on our paper?." She said.

"Yes, pero I'm just curious kasi you seemed like you're in a really good mood today and let's just say, you're not the typical bitchy Julia sa araw na'to."

"Kasali ba yun sa research natin?." Biro nya, opening her laptop.

"Nope, but would it hurt you to just answer my question?."

"Well, let's just say I finally decided to change for the better."

"Pero bakit?."

"Kasi napanaginipan kita kagabi, that you're gonna kill me if di ako nagbago." She said winking, pereng tenge te. Oops Stella, chill. Babae din yan.

"Parang sira to." Sabi ko at hinampas sya ng bahagya.

"Kidding. Wala lang, napag-isip-isip ko lang talaga na magbago na. Magiging senior high na tayo, ayoko na ng ganitong ka imaturan. Hindi magandang halimbawa." And that is the first time na nakita ko syang seryoso.

Silence. Hindi ko lang mapigilang titigan sya,

"So, as I was saying--when are we going to do the survey?." At ayun, nag-usap lang kami habang ginagawa ang ibang parts ng paper namin.

Gusto ko yung ganitong version of Julia, I mean I don't like her like why am I even explaining? Hayst.

I don't know, we could be good friends I guess. It's our last year in junior high school, we should be spending time with each other as much as possible. Pero di naman siguro sya lilipat ng school next year kaya magkakasama parin kami next school year and I'm looking forward to it.

7:30pm, umalis din sya agad.

KINABUKASAN

Sabay kaming pumasok ng school, milagro talaga because she's not late today. Naka attend pa nga kami ng flag ceremony, and sa line namin nasa likod ko lang sya.

Every morning talaga may announcement na sobrang haba, bagot na bagot na kaming lahat sa mga pinagsasabi ng principal namin nang nagulat akong may nag backhug sakin. Resting it's head on my shoulder. Dugdugdugdug.

That vanilla scent. It's Julia. She doesn't usually touch people kaya nagulat ako ngayon, pero I acted like I don't care at nag-focus lang sa nagsasalita.

Typical class na boring.

"As we've been told that we don't have classes starting the third period because we have to practice for our upcoming mathsci-yaw this coming thursday, guys please naman. Please cooperate. We only have two days for rehearsals, we have to win the competition or babagsak tayong lahat this quarter." Paalala ko sa lahat.
