~Flashback Continued~
"Yeah, no, just call me when you pull up to the garage! Lola will come down to scan her ID in for you guys, no way in hell are you paying for those expensive ass visitor passes!" Kelsey says fairly loudly into her phone's speaker, making sure that whoever's on the other end of the line hears her through all the commotion. "Alright, sounds good! We'll see you guys in a bit and tell Curly over there to be careful with the driving. I love him to death, you know I do but if anything happens and he's to blame, I don't know him," she warns just before ending the call.
I chuckle at Kelsey's remark...now I know exactly who she was talking to.
"Skylar and Theo?"
"Yeah," she confirms my thoughts. "They're five minutes out."
"Perfect. Levi just texted me that he and Liam just got off the highway, so they should be here pretty soon, too. Both of us should just head down there now and wait for everyone to arrive together."
"You're right." She grabs her dorm keys. "You heard from Spencer yet?"
"He texted the group chat ten minutes ago that he was twenty minutes away. So, he should be here just around the time the twins arrive."
"Aye! What are we waiting for then?" Kelsey asks rhetorically. "Let's go!"
Today is Saturday.
Aka the day that's to hold the highlights of UCSB's party palooza.
Aka Kelsey's nineteenth birthday that we're celebrating with all of our friends tonight.
After I wished her an early morning happy birthday by surprising her with a candle-filled, personal-sized cake from Anna's Marketplace Bakery just nearby — which I managed to buy while my best friend was still knocked out — we laid out our outfits for tonight.
Kelsey decided on her new black Night Shimmers Mini Dress by Free People — that she's been saving just for her birthday — with black stiletto heels, and I chose my emerald green high neck strappy back bodycon dress which I plan to pair with simple black single strap heels. Once we both made sure to confirm that the other would be looking fine as fuck tonight, we decided to hit up our friends and see how far they've gotten with their drives. We've been on the phone with them ever since and now that they're finally close, our little reunion is getting more surreal by the second.
We just wish Luca and Jason were able to join us as well, but given that they're both all-stars on the Duke's men's soccer team, they barely even had time to FaceTime us this morning due to their already crazy practice schedules. It's okay, though. We knew that going to separate colleges would force us to become more flexible, but that was never really going to be a challenge for any of us. Our families have been A 1 since day 1 only, which only meant that Thanksgiving was going to be celebrated together once again this year. We honestly have nothing to complain about there.
