~Flashback Continued~

"You're still up?" I ask Ace, who's currently sitting on my bed, wearing only pajama bottoms. I then furrow my eyebrows when I'm reminded of where I am. "And in my room?" I add on. Ace looks up from his phone just as I close the door behind me, a smug smile on his face.

"Let's just say your mom is the only parent I know that would ever let a daughter and her boyfriend sleep in the same bed, under the same roof as her," Ace gets straight to the point. "Either that, or she really didn't want her daughter's first boyfriend sleeping on the couch downstairs," he then shrugs.

"That's all she said?" I ask, finding that hard to believe. "No warnings, no precautions, nothing?" I mean, sure, my mom knows I'm far from innocent but she also knows that I've never brought a guy home before, much less in my bed.

"She more or less said I'm welcomed to sleep here as long as the rest of the house can't hear us," he smirks knowingly. "Seemed pretty reasonable to me." Now that, that sounds more like Mom.

"Yeah, well, don't let her sweet Italian charm fool you. Luisa Conti can be extremely ruthless when she wants to be," I semi-tease.

In simpler terms, Mom can be an angel when she wants to be, but should you dare wake up the fire-breathing dragon that secretly sleeps within her, then let's just say you unwillingly unleashed a wrath like you've never seen before. Also, thank God I hadn't been there for that awkward conversation between her and Ace. Not to mention his conversation with Luca. Phew. Who knew staying after to help clean up that night would've turned out be a good thing?

"I'm dating her daughter, aren't I?" Ace then mentions the obvious. "Trust me, it doesn't get any more ruthless than that." Going to sit on my bed, I conveniently hit him with the first pillow I see.

Chuckling, Ace pulls me to his lap and I hug his waist with my legs while he caresses my thighs, both wanting to savor every lingering feeling that's currently between us. We haven't sat in this position for more than twenty days, and that thought alone instantly reminds me just how much we've truly been apart -not to mention, how much I've missed him- all over again.

"What?" Ace suddenly asks me with a soft smile, placing a lose strand of my hair behind my ear. I shake my head with a smile of my own.

"Nothing."

"Nah, it's definitely something," he begs to differ. "You only ever wear that look on your face when you're in deep thought."

Awww, he notices things! Buffy coos, making me smile all over again before I go to hug Ace with so much force that he ends up falling on his back, taking me along with him.

"I've missed you like fucking hell, that's all," I finally decide to tell him, burying my face in his chest. His arms instantly wrap around me, bringing me even closer to him, if that's even possible.

"Don't remind me," he responds, running his fingers through my hair. "I'm so sorry I left, Lo. That's the first and last time I'm doing that, baby. You have my word." He then pulls me up enough to nuzzle his face in the crook of my neck, running his callused fingers up and down my arms to soothe the goosebumps that form when I hear him inhale my scent.

And that was the same exact position that we had woken up in after sunrise.
