*Author's Note: Another chapter for another couple of reads! Thanks to all of you who are taking the time to read this book, it really means a lot. Also, please note that until further notice, this story has been -and will be- nothing but flashbacks so far. That is, Lola is still sitting on her couch (since the prologue), sharing her story with you guys. That being said, as she talks about the flashbacks, all the italicized words in the chapters that weren't her conscience speaking at the time, are her talking in the present tense. This will usually occur if she's trying to explain/or is thinking about something outside of the flashback. It might be a little confusing to keep up with all of the tense changes, but I believe this is the best/easiest way to differentiate between the two. So, please ask any questions that you may have, especially if something seems confusing to you. Stay blessed! :)*

~Flashback Continued~

I look at the list that Kelsey has written up and already want to slam my head against the nearest wall after reading the first title.

"Kells," I look at her with complete disinterest in my eyes, "The Bad Boy and The Tomboy? Really?" I then take a peek at the rest of the list. "And what's up with this last one? After? Who the hell even names a book that?"

"Anna Todd," she answers as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.

"Well, whatever her name is, her story better not be about a goody two-shoe's experience after losing her virginity to the guy who just so magically ends up being the love of her life at the end, or some shit like that. Ugh, I can already tell you what I'll be doing after having read it. I'll be vomiting my intestines out for the next three days. I mean, come on, even the title is cliché as fuck, Kells."

"Well, you might not entirely be wrong on the vomiting part. I guess it'll all just come down to your innocence level at that point but honestly, with your track record, I wouldn't be too worried."

"Come again?"

"It'll make sense when you get to Chapter 28...and then like every other chapter that follows."

I look at her, confused, but brush it off when I take a glance at the entire list this time.

        Oh, boy.

The Bad Boy and the Tomboy, Fight for Her, Illegal My Ass, Addicted to Meth, and last but not least, After.

Interesting group of titles, I'll give her that.

"So," I look up to see Kelsey gleaming with pride. "We have a deal, right? I read all five, don't get positively affected, and you finally drop it," I restate to confirm one last time.

"Of course, Lola. I gave you my word."

I really don't like the current vibe that I'm getting from Kelsey's predetermined smirk that she gives me afterwards, but rather than question it and thus later regret doing so, I just decide to drop it.

"In that case," I say as I take her tablet from her, "prepare to eat your words, Fayer."

"I wouldn't speak too soon, Dino. You have a long way to go...did I mention that After is a series of five books? Oops."

And now I know where that earlier uneasy vibe came from.

"I hate you," is all I respond with, only causing her to shoot me a wide smile.

"Get to work, young grasshopper. Don't mind me," Kelsey retorts as she makes herself comfortable on her bed all over again.

Whether I'm going to regret this or not, I take Kelsey's Wattpad login information seconds later and begin reading the first of the five titles: The Bad Boy and The Tomboy.
