~Flashback Continued~

Green, yellow, orange, red, blue.
Green, yellow, orange, red, blue.
Green, yellow, orange, red, blue.
Blue, red, orange, yellow, green.
Wow, I totally did just switch up the eating order of my Sour Patch Kids...that just goes to show how bored I currently am in Philosophy.
Now, where was I?
Oh yeah...
Green, yellow, orange-
I stop when I can't feel anything inside the packet anymore. I stick my eyeball inside to investigate and instantly pout at my discovery: my fat ass ate all of them already.
Stuffing the now empty packet in one of the side pockets of my backpack, I proceed to think of other things I could be doing to pass the time. In the end, I attempt to balance my pencil on my nose and when that fails, I just decide to tune into whatever Jenkins has to say in these last fifteen minutes of class like the rest of her audience around me.
"Alright, you all, listen up," she asks for our undivided attention. "As you may have noticed on the syllabus, starting next week, the first five minutes of every lecture will be spent on partner presentations over the objectives that we'll be learning about during the rest of the semester. That being said, I'm giving you all the remainder of today's class to mingle around and pair yourselves up in groups of two. As soon as you're done, I advise you and your partner to come down a sign up for a specific presentation date here on this sheet that I have provided below," she says as she places the piece of paper on the small podium before her. "So, go on now."
Immediately after Jenkins' last sentence, chattering voices surround me as people begin to move to pair up. I too am just about to get up and join them, when a notification pops up on my phone.
It's a text from Ace that I then open up to read fully.
Subject 🧪👨🏽🔬: We've been past the mingling stage and you're the only person I can actually stand in this pool of ass-kissers...so, partners?
I turn around to see Ace wink at me from his seat, an obvious smirk appearing at the corner of my mouth as soon as I turn back around to send him my reply.
Me: That eager to get in my pants, Rivers? We both know that the last thing we'd be working on is the project whenever we'd meet up together.
Subject 🧪👨🏽🔬: You say that like it's a bad thing 😏. Besides, I can keep it strictly professional if you can...work first, reward later 😉.
I shake my head at his reply. This dude is such a flirt, I swear.
Subject 🧪👨🏽🔬: So, what do you say? Partners?
Me: You're lucky you're the only person I actually talk to in this class. If you can keep our project meetings professional, then sure, I'll be your partner, Ace.
Subject 🧪👨🏽🔬: I knew you couldn't resist me 😘
I leave him on 'read' and then gather my things to meet him at the podium. On our way down there, however, Ace gets stopped by two girls ready to get their flirt on and of course, he's enjoying every second of it.
