We all have that special someone whose hugs we love the most. For me, that person was, is and always will be my big brother. As we got older, we grew in different directions, yet our roots still remain as one just like branches on a tree. Since the day we first met to the day we die, and in the afterlife if such a thing really does exist, each of our lives will always be a special part of the other. And that day he had picked me up from the airport for Thanksgiving break proved no different.

~Flashback Continued~

"You twirl me anymore, you idiot, and I'll puke up every last one of the Sour Patch Kids I ate on my last flight!" He chuckles at my warning.

"Suck it up, mini me. It'll be like five minutes before the 'I missed you' feeling wares off, and then the prank war resumes," he says, finally letting me down, chuckling along with me. Then, because my hoodie is ever so conveniently up on my head, he pulls the two strings in opposite directions, instantly making me look like a walking condom. "Oops. Did I say five? I meant now."

I hit him upside the head, making us chuckle even more, before I go to hug Jason while Kelsey hugs Luca.

"'Sup, loser," Jason greets me with a smile, engulfing me in a massive hug. Thank God he doesn't decide to twirl me, too.

"I'm surprised you were able to make it, Jason. I thought the zoo locked the animals up by six," I tease right back.

"Nice to see you, too," he chuckles.

When all the hugging is over and our suitcases have been picked up by the two oldest, the four of us walk out of Chicago O'Hare, arms wrapped over each other's shoulders with Kelsey and I in the middle.

"Neither of our parents get off work 'til eight, so Luca and I were thinking we stop by Portillo's on our way home. The 'welcome back' cake we made is at your guys' place, though, so we can just have dinner there," Jason says once we're out in the parking lot.

"You guys made us a cake?" Kelsey and I ask simultaneously, knowing that something is up right away.

They nod their heads as they put our suitcases inside the trunk of Luca's new ride, a 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata in Meteor Grey Mica. He's been saving up for it for as long as I remember, and needless to say, it beats my red 2012 Dodge Challenger GT any day.

FYI don't be fooled on how I could even afford such a decent car back then. Only reason that thing was even mine in the first place was because I had won it freshman year of high school in a last-man-standing contest at our local carnival. My arm was cramping for days afterwards, but I had won myself a free car, so I guess it was worth it.

"Yeah, no way in hell are we eating that," Kelsey retorts, and I immediately agree with her. "God knows what the two of you decided to put in it this time."

"For real. Did you honestly think we'd forget Kelsey's birthday cake fiasco? I should've known the two of you were up to something the moment you practically begged us to let you make that damn cake."

Luca and Jason laugh at the memory as we all get in the car, Luca behind the wheel and Jason in the passenger seat, while Kelsey and I take the back.

Ever since we were born, Kelsey and I shared the first pieces of every single one of our birthday cakes together. Our parents had started the tradition and to this day, we continue it. Luca and Jason obviously knew this and because they wanted to be 'good big brothers' -'good,' my ass- they offered to make Kelsey's cake for her thirteenth birthday and we let them...yeah, big mistake. They ended up doing the cutting, too and conveniently gave us the only corner that they had sprinkled a laxative in. You can probably guess what happened next...yup, the two of us shitted uncontrollably for two days straight. And mind you, on top of all that, we were both on our periods during that entire week.
