~Flashback Continued~

"Fuck, I can't believe we actually made it," Kelsey whispers to me just as we walk into class at exactly 9:00 am. "I almost regretted doing the whole marathon thing."

"Really?" I ask with a cocked eyebrow, finding that hard to believe.

"Keyword 'almost,'" she smirks, knowing damn well she'd do it all over again as soon as she was given the chance.

Shaking my head at her with a smile, we make our way to our usual row only to find that it's completely filled, much like the rest of the other seats around us.

I'm about to ask Kelsey if we should just sneak out altogether as soon as we sign the attendance sheet, and just ask someone for the notes later, when she nudges my arm and nods over to the back row.

"There are two seats in the back," she says, turning to look at me but there's also an evil grin plastered right across her mouth that's accompanied by her widened eyes. Out of curiosity, I lift my head up to see the reason behind my best friend's current infamous Cheshire imitation.

And when I do, I roll my eyes, both at her and at the scene in front of me.

        Well, this is just great.

Told you destiny had something in store for you today, Buffy radiates.

"I take back what I said earlier," Kelsey says, her grin never fading, "I'm so letting you binge watch whatever the hell you want on weeknights. In fact, I encourage it now more than ever."

Rolling my eyes yet again, I grab the hand of a fangirling Kelsey and walk us up to the only two available seats in the room, which also happen to be next to two familiar faces.

I opt for the seat furthest away from the kissing pair -knowing that if I don't, he's only going to distract me the entire time the moment that he notices me sitting right next to him- but Kelsey beats me to it, silently demanding to get my ass seated in it or else.

"Sorry, that seat's already taken," Punky suddenly comes up for air to tell me with a fake ass smile, just as I'm about to sit down.

That's when Ace turns around with red-lipstick-tainted lips but when he sees me, he just smirks.

"You're right, it is," he says, turning to Punky. "By yours truly," he then adds on, nodding over to me.

        Punky's eyes widen in disbelief.

"Even as her name on it," he grins to piss her off even more.

"What?!" Punky screeches, but fortunately, only loud enough for the back row to hear.

She then immediately leans over to look at my seat, and looking down with her, I too see my first name written on top of it in -what I can only assume is- a permanent marker and Ace's handwriting. Her cheeks red and her eyes narrowed to slits, Punky looks back up at an amused Ace and then a bored me before leaning back in her seat with her crossed arms at her chest and a scowl, looking ahead just as Wright begins to pull up his PowerPoint on the projector.

"Good to know," I shrug as I take my supposed seat, smirking when Punky calls me a 'bitch' just loud enough for only Ace and I to hear this time. "Do I even want to know?" I whisper to him, referring as to why he's written my name on the seat.
