~Flashback Continued~
~Friday, January 6, 2017 - Loraine's and Darius's Wedding~
"You sure Loraine and Darius are okay with Hayden and I tagging along on such short notice?" Ace asks me as he sneaks up behind me -not really, though. I see can him through the mirror- while I'm trying to put on the last of my mascara before I step into my dress.
His hands delicately inch around my waist as he buries his face in the crook of my neck, nearly making me squeal when he softly bites down on my skin.
"Nope, nope, nope," I immediately turn around to face him, and of course, I find him smirking at me. "No hickies until after the wedding." He rolls his eyes, but his smirk never falters. "And yes, you two are more than welcome to come. In fact, Loraine and Darius had already calculated enough chairs and dinner plates for every guest to bring a plus one." Ace raises a suspicious, yet funny-looking, eyebrow at me.
"And who would've been your plus one had I not showed up?"
"I guess now we'll never know," I tease, pushing him away from me before handing him his duffel bag and shoving him out the door. "Now stop wasting time, and go get ready. I'm pretty sure the bathroom's free by now."
"Why can't I just stay here?" He retorts. "It's not like you're the bride." Rolling my eyes -but failing to hide my smile- I close the door and lock it, continuing where I left off.
About twenty minutes later, I head downstairs to see my mother, brother, grandparents, uncle, two aunts and cousins all ready to go, but the person that stands out to me the most is the handsome guy that's currently talking to my brother.
Wearing a white button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows and a pair of navy blue dress pants and blazer, Ace is not only downright looking like a five course meal, but he's also sporting the same exact colors as my dress. This had to have been Kelsey's doing, no doubt, and I make a mental note to hug the shit out of my best friend later.
*Lola's and Ace's Outfits*
"Oh, honey, you look beautiful," Mom -who's the first to notice me- tells me, instantly putting a smile to my face. But what brightens that smile even more is when I see Ace look up at me, widening his eyes and parting his lips in such a breathtaking way of its own, I almost trip on the last step down.
