~Flashback Continued~

"When was your first time?" He asks me right before he goes to drink the sip that he owed for shutting down my previous question, which was how did he and Hayden meet.

By the time Ace and I left downtown, it was only 10:00 pm. Neither one of us feeling like calling it a night just yet, we stopped by my dorm for me to change out of the dress and then headed down to Goleta Beach Park. Ace had some liquor in the trunk of his car, so we've been playing Twenty-one Questions ever since we arrived.

With this edition, no questions are off limits but none can be repeated. And if we choose not to answer, we have to take a sip from our bottle.

I just finished asking Ace my eleventh question, and he just asked me his.

"With you," I lie with a straight face, and his eyes widen as he all but chokes on the burning alcohol.

"You're lying," he finally states like it's a commonly known fact, and I can't help the laugh that escapes from the back of my throat.

"And you're gullible as fuck," I tell him. Like seriously, though. Did he already forget me telling him about who my first was?

You have a knack for lying, though, Buffy reminds me. He could've thought you were lying then.

I guess that's true, too.

Ace gives me a playful shove and I take the sip that I owe. Why tell him the actual answer when I can let him wonder about it a little on his own?

"Asshole," he mumbles, and I give him a victorious smirk. He shakes his head in amusement before saying, "alright, your turn."

"What makes you feel accomplished?"

"My sister's carefree smile," he answers with no hesitation, and then goes to ask me, "what are you most thankful for?"

"The people closest to me," I answer just as fast. "Which parent are, or were" -better safe than sorry- "you closer to?"

"Neither." He then asks me, "got any idols?"

"My mom and my brother." My fourteenth question for him is, "if a genie granted you three wishes right now, what would you wish for?"

"A guaranteed happy future for my sister, some answers, and then I'd wish for the genie to set himself free like Aladdin." I give him a genuine smile.

"Nice three wishes." He winks at me with a corner-smile himself, and then looks back out to the calm ocean.

"A place you've always wanted to visit?"

"Greece. What is the craziest thing you've ever done and would you do it again?" He smirks at me.

"You and yes." I shove him back for that one, laughing along with him.

"Since you asked a question with a follow up question, what's your greatest fear and what caused you to develop it?"

I immediately take another swig at the bottle, not even thinking once about it, let alone twice. He studies me intensely throughout my entire gulp, but doesn't say anything.
