Chapter 19

Austin's POV

"What's wrong Austin?Confused about the difference between girls and boys?" Logan taunts me in asarcastic tone. "No, I was just thinking of something a friend told me." I sayadjusting the strap on my shoulder, "Someone finally gave you the sex talk?" I canfeel myself starting to get pissed off but I know that is what Logan wants heloves to get any reaction he can out of people he targets. "I mean I would havegladly done that, but I thought that your parents sat you down a long time agoand explained everything to you." I roll my eyes with a scoff, "If you mustknow I was thinking on how you seem stuck on the evolution chart somewhere thatdoesn't quite reach full human." I snap back at him having enough of hismocking. Logan starts laughing as his eyes shine with mischievous.

"Don'tyou ever get tired of using big words to cover up the fact that you don't knowany good comebacks?" Before I can answer him Logan cuts me off with moretaunting, "I mean I guess you don't know any better since weren't around enoughto turn you into someone of normality. Instead you turned into what you arenow." It is fine to talk about me because most things I can let roll off myback but Logan cross the line. "At least both of my parents were in my life."Logan's eyes go dark and he lets out a dangerous growl. "Tell me Logan, doesyour dad still send you postcards from prison?" I ask him giving him my owndark look as Logan storm up to me and shoves me to the ground. "I wonder if asmart little pathetic parasites like you have figured out a way to escape deathyet." Logan grabs me by my head but before he slam my head onto the cement anarm grabs Logan and effortlessly throws him off of me.

"NowI know that you weren't going to stain the name of Alpha Delta Fraternity bycommitting first degree murder." I hear the familiar voice of Hunter say as Isee both Hunter and Bryce staying side by side in front of me. "He deserves it,and I suggest the two of you move before you end up in my list." Bryce laughsas his muscles start twitching almost like Bryce is ready to fight, and Hunterjust sighs and shake his head with a disappointed look on his face. "If youwould like to try your luck against Bryce then more power to you Logan, but Iwould hate to see you get hurt or worse I wonder what Garrett would think ofall of this?" Hunter is strangely clam as he places his hand behind his back. "Thishas nothing to do with either of you, this is between me and Austin." Logantakes a step towards me but when he does Bryce takes a step towards Logan. 

"Ihave been itching for fight." Bryce says with a smile on his face as he takesoff his shirt and cracks his neck. "I suggest that you lick your woundssomeplace else and leave Austin alone." Logan looks past Hunter and Bryce andstares at me. "Why am I not surprised, poor little Austin Black has to haveother people fight his battles for him." Logan stands back up om his feet as Inotice that his arm has been cut open by the cement. "LET'S GO!" Bryce roars asLogan just waves him off. "I won't forget about what you said, and I promisethat I find a way to make you suffer." Logan threatens as he walks off but tome it sounds more like a promise and one that Logan intends to keep. Hunter andBryce wait until they are sure that Logan has left before turning to me. "Youalright?" Hunter asks as he Bryce puts his hand out to me. I grab Bryce's handand I am lunched into the air as he pulls me back to my feet.

"Yeah,I guess that argument got more heated then intended." Hunter and Bryce bothlook at each other before looking back at me. "What happened between the two ofyou anyways?" Bryce asks as he puts his shirt back on. "I was walking to classwhen Logan started taunting me, and I ended up taunting him back." I saybrushing myself off and grabbing my bag off the ground. "You must have hit avery serious sore spot with Logan to get a reaction like that, but on the otherhand he most likely had it coming." Hunter comments as he runs his hand throughhis raven hair. "Logan is a lot like Garrett, the smallest thing could seteither one of them off." Hunter suddenly looks like he remembered something."Speaking of Garrett, I wanted to thank you again for taking care of him lastnight, I know what a burden that could be." I smile and shake my head swinging mybag back over my shoulder.

"Hewasn't a burden, it was actually nice having someone there that wasn't Katieand Jonathan having sex in her room." Bryce and Hunter laugh at the joke. "Ican only imagine." Hunter says as he gets his laughter under control. "Weshould get going, but please Austin do watch yourself, Logan is the definitionof unforgiving." Hunter and Bryce both incline their heads as the two of themwalk off. I let out a deep breath as I pick up a text book that fell out of mybag and the words of Colin mixed with the warning of Hunter echo in my head andit is at this moment that I start thinking that maybe the two go hand and handor in my case picking Colin's words over Hunter's warning is a like getting adeath sentence but thinking that nothing will ever come of it.

I shake my head of these thoughts as I focus my mind back on my classes and as I look at the big clock tower I see that my run in with Logan has put me behind schedule, this causes me to hurry fast I can to my class before time gets too late.
