Sebastian and Alison sat with the Massey's and their daughter and her best friend Alexis, a pretty girl who he had learned a few weeks prior, had a wicked crush on his son. He thought it quite adorable until he learned that the girl's age was sixteen and then, much to James's chagrin, all holds were off and all the bad, tasteless underage jokes were cut loose.

Sebastian' mobile vibrated, alerting him of a call that originated from his parents' house phone but his father didn't stay on the line long enough to reach voice mail and when Sebastian returned the call and his father didn't pick up, he excused himself and appeared in the middle of his parents' kitchen, calling out to him with worry; all of his canine senses on overload.

"In here," he called out, rounding the corner.

"Dad! Are you okay?"

"I'm here, aren't I?"

Sebastian stared at him as he pecked on a small flip phone. "What are you doing?"

George Matus stared up at his son with contempt in his eyes, then he closed and tossed the flip phone on the table. "I was trying to send you a text, since I know that's your preferred mode of communication, but at this rate, smoke signals would be faster!"

Sebastian smiled at his father with sympathetic eyes. "Well I'm here now...is Mum okay?"

"Your mother is fine," George replied stiffly.

"Then what's up?"

"She's here..."

He smiled happily. "Who? Mum?"

George sighed wearily. "No! The Dream Walker. The girl...Alison Powers..."

"Always keeping your feelers out, aren't you?"

Sebastian was met with a steely glare.

Sebastian nodded. "Yes, she is. But she's not Powers anymore. She got married."

George nodded. "Yes. It's terrible what they did to him, her husband.

Sebastian nodded...he knew all too well what that felt like.

"You've seen her then?"

Sebastian nodded. "I have, yes. She's at the safe house."

George nodded. "Would you be so kind as to take me to see her then?"

Sebastian explained that supper was in the process of being prepared and that it would take three hours to drive west to Manitou Springs.

"So use your preferred mode of transportation then."

"Dad," he said gently, "you hate the process of emergence."

"Only because it makes me want to barf."

Sebastian laughed and agreed to take him. "Are you ready to go then?"

George Matus nodded, then at the last second, swished his hand and quickly grabbed at the tiny medicine pouch that had been lying on the table.

Sebastian emerged with his father in tow, as Topher came rushing into the room, his wand brandished. "Oh, it's you," he said with relief. "Hello Pappa!"

George stood perfectly still then held out his arm as Topher steadied him. "Good afternoon Christopher," he replied swallowing hard.

"Alright there, Papa?"

"Oh yes. Just swell." He managed to finally place the leather pouch around his neck...Sebastian wondered if his father thought it was the one artifact that Alison might recognize on sight?
