CHAPTER 9 - BE BRAVE

Nang makarating sa Study Hall ay hindi parin ako nagsasalita. And I'm really glad na hindi nya rin ako tinanong dahil wala ako sa mood magsalita. The tutorial went smoothly pero walang pumapasok utak ko, it's useless dahil parang nawala lahat ng tinuro nya sakin simula kahapon.

But whatever, this is the last day so why bother?

While at the dinner ay nalaman kong sina Zenon pala ang bago naming kapitbahay. I can see him anytime I want and it won't be a hassle. Ang saya ko na sana nalaman ko pero nawala din bigla nang malaman kong matagal ko na palang kapitbahay si Mica.

Like what the fudge?

Bakit ngayon ko lang sya nakita?

" I'm glad you joined us for today's dinner Mica." my mom said. " You're too focused on your studies, you need to enjoy even just for a while."

Ah, kaya naman pala. She's also a geek katulad ni Vlad na hindi lumalabas sa kanilang lungga. This two can make a great couple!

" Thank yout Tita. Having me here is really an honor for me."

" I heard you wanted to be a lawyer just like your father?" tanong ng isang nanay. I don't know who she is.

Malambing na ngumiti si Mica sa kanila. But there's something in her smile that says otherwise. It's kinda sad and painful. Bakit hindi sya masaya?

" Yes tita, gusto kong sumunod sa yapak ni dad." sagot nya. Ang daming namangha sa kanyang sinabi at niyakap sya ng kanyang dad. They congratulated her family and even gave her an applaus.

Wait.

Bakit sya ang center of attention ngayon? This dinner is a welcoming party for Zenon's family. They should welcome and congratulate him not her!

" CONGRATS AND WELCOME IN MINAMI RESIDENCE ZENON AND FAMILY!" I shouted at him dahil nasa pinakadulo sya ng mesa habang ako ay nasa kabilang dulo din. Katabi ko sa kanan si Vlad while sa kabila naman si mom.

They all gave me death glares but Zenon smiled at me.

" Thank you." sabi nya. That felt good.

Hindi ko pinansin ang kanilang mga tingin but Zenon's father smiled at me! It's a plus points dude!

" So, in what field does Zenon excels?" tanong ni mom ko sa mommy ni Zenon.

Here she goes again with her being obsessed of "top students". She always do this and this is really embarassing me.

" He doesn't excel in anything."

" What?! Pero bakit dito kayo nanirahan sa Minami Residence? You should know the standards here before you got accepted." sabi din ng isang nanay.

Nagkatinginan ang mom at dad ni Zenon na nagpapahiwatig na wala talaga silang alam.. They don't know anything about this place? That's awesome!

" I'm really sorry pero wala talaga akong alam sa sinasabi nyo. We moved here because there's a vacant house. At mas malapit sa office ng asawa ko ang bahay that's why we choose this place."

Napailing ang ibang nanay. They are starting to get cranky about Zenons family. Hindi parin sila makapaniwala.

" No, there must be something that you're son excels before you got accepted. Is he an athlete? A top student?" tanong ulit ng isang nanay. Hindi ko talaga alam ang mga pangalan nila and I don't have any plans on knowing it.

" Zenon is not in top place. He only got second in school."

Napanganga ang lahat sa sinabi nya. Zenon don't excel in anything but he's in second? Their expression is priceless kaya hindi ko napigilan ang sarili kong tumawa. My laughter echoed inside the room habang masamang tingin ang binigay nila sakin.
