CHAPTER 15 – THE DEBATE

Hindi man lang ako nakapag paalam kay Zenon bago sya umalis. Hindi ko alam kung may mukha pa akong ihaharap sa kanya sa susunod na magkita kami. He invited me to have lunch but ending up ruining it just because of that stupid contract.

No, it's because of your temper gurl.  

What's that stupid conscience? Stop invading my mind.

Wala kaming imik ni Vlad nang bumalik sya sa room at wala din akong balak na kausapin sya. Nakaupo kami na parang hindi nag eexist ang bawat isa. I don't care. I can live my life not talking to him.

Hindi parin nahuhupa ang masamang tingin na binibigay sakin ng mga kaklase ko. They knew what I did to Vlad. Mamatay sana kayo sa kakatitig sakin.

I'm always looking forward for today's topic. Every friday ay nagkakaroon kami ng debate, it's always girl vs. boys because girls always have the same instinct and vice versa. The teacher already prepared a topic written in a piece of papers na nilagay sa bote ng maliit na jar. Kailangan lang naming bumunot para pumili ng topic.

Vlad always had the honor of doing such kasi nga genius daw.

We need to debate 5 topics and our first topic is about " Education should focus on maths and science rather than music and art."

And of course, Vlad should be the first to speak of what's in his mind. Kapag sya ang nanguna takot na lahat ng mga kaklase kong kumalaban. Kaya wala pang nakakatalo sa kanya dahil hindi sya tumatanggap ng ibang opinion. Gahaman nya kasi sa kaalaman.

At yung teacher ko rin naman fan yata ni Vlad kaya sya lang pinagbibigyan lagi.

But me, as usual ay hindi ako nagsasalita sa tabi kasi nga walang kwenta pinag uusapan nila. I'd rather watch them argue something then processed it in my mind and conclude my own facts.

Maybe I should step out of my shell for a while. This would give me a piece of mind after what he did earlier.

" The Instigator would be the boys while the girls would be the Contender. Now let's start the debate." sabi ng teacher at binigyan nya kami ng 10 minutes para mag isip.

This is a bit hard because I agree with the statement. Math and Science are really important in our society nowadays. It's the main reason why we have great technologies. But who knows, maybe I can find a spot para talunin si Vlad sa debate.

Lahat ng lalaki ay nagsitayuan at lumipat sa left side ng room while lahat ng babae ay nakaupo sa right side because girls are always right. *smirk*

Nagtaas ako ng kamay dahil may sasabihin ako sa teacher. Nagulat pa silang lahat dahil ito ang unang beses na nagtaas ako ng kamay. What? Gusto nyo rin bang magtaas ng kamay, just do so.

" Yes Ms. Chen?"

" This is a bit inappropriate topic maam. Given the fact that our school is School of Math and Sciences, there is a total possibility of biased opinions in the students. Every student had passed the admission exam in math and sciences and we don't do art in here except for some students who know both. I would like to suggest to change positions after we finished our side opinions."

Ngumiti sya sa sinabi ko at pumalapak pa ng dalawang beses. " That's a good idea! This would be a bit hard but it would be a great change for your intellectual activities. So students, prepare your brains for this battle. Isa lang ang topic natin but you need to focus on this single topic. Now you may start as the instigator Vlad."
