CHAPTER 18

CHAPTER 18 - GOODNIGHT

We're preparing our stuff to travel in a farmland. Hindi ko alam kung gaano kalayo pero dalawang araw daw kami doon. Dito na din natulog si Aussie dahil sasama nga daw sya. We already talked to her parents and gladly they allowed her to travel with us mainly the reason is because they knew my mom.

I put the last piece of cloth in my baggage then zipped it close. " Hmm. May nakalimutan pa ba tayo?" tanong ko kay Aussie.

" Actually, you almost put all your things inside that suitcase and backpack. It's just two days Jiane. We're not hybernating outside the country."

" Did we brought a mosquito repellant?" tanong ko.

" Jeez. You brought the whole bottle of lotion in your suitcase already!"

" Hmm. I think I forgot something." sabi ko at naglibot pa sa loob ng kwarto. Biglang kinuha ni Aussie ang backpack ko at hinila ang maleta palabas ng kwarto.

" Hey! I'm not done yet!" sigaw ko sa kanya pero hindi nya ako pinansin. Hinanap ko na lang ang bagay na alam kong kulang then I found it in my bedside table. I need to bring this tommorow or I'll get bored during the trip.

My kumatok sa pintuan ng kwarto ko at dumungaw ang mukha ni Vlad. " Is everything okay? I heard you screamed."

Umiling ako. " Everything's fine." sagot ko.

"Rubix cube?" tanong ni VLad nang makita ang hawak kong laruan. Lumabas na rin ako ng kwarto para sundan si Aussie sa sala dahil nandoon na ang iba naming gamit para bukas.

" Yep."

" Bakit pareho lahat ang kulay? That's an Idiot's Rubix cube. " sabi nya at kinuha ang cube sa kamay ko.

"Sorry to burst your bubble but it's a Braille's Rubix cube. It's for blind people kaya hindi na kailangan ng kulay. " pinakita ko sa kanya ang mga dots na nakaukit sa bawat face ng cube.

" Are you insulting the blinds? Why do you have to play those when you can play the normal ones."

"I'm not insulting them! I just want to close my eyes during the trip while playing it. Wanna try it?"

" No, thanks." sabi nya then shove back the cube to me. " I'm looking forward for tomorrow. So let's sleep early." he said then turned his back on me. He's looking forward for tomorrow para gawin akong katulong. Sarap nyang batuhin ng Rubix cube.

Nilagay ko na lang sa loob ng bag ang Rubix cube. Nakaupo si Aussie sa sofa at inaayos din ang ibang gamit nya. I took the space beside her and slouch my self in the couch. "Hey, bakit hindi mo alam na may kambal si Zenon? You're in the same school right?" I asked her out of nowhere.

" I just found out too. All I knew is that he's the soccer prince and one of the smartest kid in school."

So that's why she had mistaken him as Zenon. Even me, I can't even distinguished who's who kung pinaglapit silang dalawa. They look exactly alike.

But I'm just relieved they didn't do it. That's the only thing I was concerned about.

We're both inside my room ready to doze for the night. Nakapikit na dalaga at malapit na akong makakatulog pero malikot si Aussie ngayon. Excited yata masyado. 

" What time is it Jiane?" biglang tanong nya. 

"Almost 11 pm I guess." I bet she can't sleep because this is not our schedule of sleeping. Madaling araw din sya madalas natutulog. Plus the fact that she's excited kaya mas lalo syang hindi makatulog.
