My mind was everywhere but not here. I had not stop thinking about my mother, where she was right now, what she was thinking or even saying. Did she have a soft spoken voice or hard and head strong voice like a leader? I could imagine her standing in front of a group of people, leading them like a true queen. I wanted to see her but how could I when Elias wouldn't let me take one step out of this house? Evelyn suggested for me not to take it too lightly, he was only worried for my wellbeing.

Elias certainly didn't care about a lot of things. Did he actually care for me, a human once from a brothel girl, that much? He didn't seem to care of me when he blatantly told Evelyn and Veda he kissed me. His motive was questionable, maybe he did it to embarrass me or stop trying to convince him to let me find my mother. That's why I had to talk to him.

I turned down the hallway where two mahogany oak doors closed off a room. I hesitantly walked towards them, trying to shake off my jittery nerves but found it hard to do so every step closer I took. Before I knocked on the door, I realized it was partially opened. I took a deep breath and pushed it open whilst knocking.

Elias sits at his desk, his head in files as he glared at them with furrowed brows. Even frustrated, he managed to look attractive, his sharp jaw clenched. He picked up a glass of an amber colored liquid before downing it, his smooth and strong throat flexing as he did. He almost slammed the glass onto the table and I let out a shaky breath when his silver eyes flickered to mine.

He lays back in his chair with a deep sigh. "You're clearly stressed," I said matter of factly. I walked into the room, peering at the amount of papers that scattered his desk. Why so many? I wondered. His hand swept away the papers rather quickly before I could see them. I swallowed as Elias looked at me earnestly, his intense silver blue eyes hardened.

"Don't," his deep voice warned, "its nothing you need to worry about."

I shut my mouth in silence, afraid to make him angry. He picked up a file and his eyes grew darker as he released a small growl before throwing it to the side. This time I didn't say anything against it, his eyes were a dark storm, he was clearly frustrated, although for what I didn't know. He moved a few papers around and I caught the file of my mom, the picture of her making my heart beat faster. Was it my mom that was making him uneasy? His eyes grew darker as he looked at another few files and before long, he threw those to the side as well.
