"He's gone," I whispered.

My mother's warm hazel eyes didn't lie. Shock and hurt filled my entire body, my lips parted in surprise. I kept asking myself why? I felt my eyes watering as my mother stood before me concerned.

"Aurelia," Emily called but her voice was drowned out, my ears began ringing. I felt like I couldn't breathe. My heart pounded in my ears as I struggled to regain control of my emotions. He's really gone. He left me.

Tears started threatening in the corner of my eyes. My body felt numb and cold from the loss of Elias' warm touch. My mind kept repeating his words over and over again. He was sorry. He asked for forgiveness from me.

His silver blue eyes were broken. Full of many emotions that he showed me for the first time. He opened up to me and I never expected that from him. I breathed heavily, feeling a tight pressure on my chest. My heart held mistrust after I found out of the deal him and Leon made but now everything has changed. No matter how much my heart craved, how much it screamed for me to give in and run after him, I pushed the urge down. My mom was right, I couldn't catch up to him in time.

My mother took a step towards me and I flinched away. "Aurelia," her soft voice filled my ears and I looked at her softened hazel eyes. Tears dripped down my cheeks, my weakness once again took over.

"He's- Elias left," my voice cracked. Heavy breaths escaped my parted lips and Emily paused, eyeing my tear stained face intently.

"He's only doing this to protect you," she said, my eyes shot up to hers.

"Protect me? How could leaving me here protect me?!" I yelled, my voice cracking even more. More tears escaped down my face and I knew my emotions were grabbing a hold of me, Gripping my heart with tight vice like hold.

She watched my emotions intently, seeing the tears slip down my face. "It was the right call! Johnathon is coming after him!" I shut my eyes for a second, struggling to concentrate on her words and the hurt that filled me. "Without you there, it will throw him off his tracks."

I couldn't shake myself out of my emotions. I couldn't help but shiver at the cold feeling of fear that filled me. Johnathon was coming after Elias and because he knows about me being involved with him, he was coming after me as well. How did they know that he wasn't going to track me down if I'm not with Elias? "And if he knows I'm here?" I ask. "I can't be here! Everyone will be in danger!"

Emily clenches her jaw, looking straight into my eyes, cutting me with her gaze. "He will not get to you. He'll have to get through me and this pack and Elias' pack." I felt like my legs were ready to collapse at that point. Did she not hear herself? Johnathon was strong, he took down this pack's alpha in front of our very own eyes. I needed Elias. "We made a deal that if I keep you here safe with me, you would be safe from Johnathon for enough time for us to plan an attack. Nobody knows about it yet but it's going to happen. We're throwing Johnathon off of his plan, starting with you."
