It was when I zipped up the last of my things into my bag, I knew this was it. I was really leaving to find my mother.

Veda knew I couldn't do this alone, I was especially glad she was coming for support being that she was my friend always giving advice. When Corbyn heard she was leaving, he wasn't particularly fond of the idea of it. So, he adamantly demanded that he was coming along too. "I'll take that," he grabbed the bags from Veda's arms and put it into the trunk of the car.

"All packed?" Veda asked and I nodded before handing my things to her. She eyed them unsurely. "Are you sure this is enough Aurelia?"

I shrugged. "I think so."

She stared at me for a few moments before Corbyn took my things from her before putting it into the trunk. He clapped his hands together with a boyish smile. "That's it," he announced, puffing out his chest proudly.

I heard the trunk close signaling he was done storing our luggage. "My strong mate," Veda spoke and wrapped her arms around his neck, smiling at him. Corbyn leaned forward pressing a kiss on her lips before pulling back, looking down at her adoringly. I smiled at them in awe.

"Leaving so soon?" A voice called. I looked up to see Evelyn, Leon, and Elias standing on the steps.

"About to head out," Corbyn called. Leon firmly nodded. My eyes turned to Elias who stood there staring at me, his silver eyes bright under the sun light.

I looked away from him, my heart stammering in my chest when I felt his intense gaze on me. I let out a shaky breath before walking up the steps to Evelyn. She held something in her hands as I could see before she hid it behind her back. "Don't leave yet," Evelyn spoke softly with a warm smile.

"I'm not," I smile before falling into her embrace. She wraps her arm around me, squeezing me as hard as she could. We stayed glued together for a few moments before her hold loosened from me. She pressed a kiss to my cheek before smoothing out the wrinkles in my shirt.

"Be safe now and I made you this," she held up a clear bag holding a grilled cheese sandwich.

I smiled at her, grabbing the sandwich from her hands. "Goodbye Evelyn," I giggled.

She grabbed my arm and I looked at her confused. "Don't say goodbye either. See you later."

I nod, laughing, "okay, see you later."

I turned to Leon as he stood watching us with an unknown expression. He looked unfazed as I looked at him. Always the serious one, I thought. I couldn't ever see Leon being anything else other than serious. I always felt threatened by him ever since I first got here but somehow that feeling dissipated. Ever since Johnathon almost killed me, he stayed on my side, I presumed. Especially since he was Elias other hand, literally for handling the packs. Sure we never had a good relationship since the start but doesn't mean things could change.
